Talib Kweli 's EARDRUM debuts at #2 On Billboards album chart. Hip Hop seems to be experiencing a sort of mainstream rebirth (1st Common, now Kwe) and Im loving it! THis album is 20 songs strong, and while Kweli has never dissappointed lyrically, on this outting his flow compliments the tracks instead of fighting them. He's not trying to fit as many syllables as humanly possible into a bar/verse, and the whole album benefits from it. This album is so good!
If you havent peeped this album you should. A happy face, A Thumpin Bass, For A Lovin' Race. PEACE.

wow! and that's not even for music fans and should be on its own chart of cultural phenomena I know. People keep trying to compare it to Grease, but Grease was actually good. I guess if you're a preteen its easy to get caught up in how cute so and so is, and not really get too critical when listening to the tunes. I dont know. I watched Highschool Musical w/my kids and parts of it were actually a little entertaining ok, enough! Have you heard Eardrum? random words thrown 2gether do not a sentence make edit [Edited 8/30/07 13:46pm] A happy face, A Thumpin Bass, For A Lovin' Race. PEACE.

Jones is a highlight. Man, I love "Quality", and "Blackstar" of course is a friggin classic! How is Liberation? That was the net-only joint, right? Never got around to that one. Finally, something positive on "9/11". I swear, I'm tired of the people on the news trying to bring the public down. All that negative crap is depressing and necessary. The casualites of war are bad enough. But, either way, this day seems to be unprecedented for all hip-hop-heads.

Kanye can always produce, though. That's what he's best at, I say.
