He should leave that show and network because it's produced for attention spans that are shorter than most great apes.

Someday soon they'll figure out how to completely edit out any musical content.

If you try to please everyone, you end up pleasing no one.

Kanye is a loser and a crybaby. Pulling the race card is so typical in the US these days. Everyone does it. Kanye does it to gain attention. He always finds some way to get his name in the news. He's a asshole through and through. Why do people waste their time and money on people like him??

brick That's for Kayne for being such a big ass baby! I can't stand a whinnying ass man!!

lol

I ain't saying Kanye's on par with Ali. Only that, like the champ, his braggadocio is very much part of "the package," and -- for some -- his appeal. You either take it or leave it.

As it were, seems a WHOLE LOTTA folk are taking it. shrug

Ain't that the truth. I said it before about Kanye, if you have to intentionally create controversy, then you are not controversial. Controversy happens when it isn't forced. Somebody needs to get that memo over to Kanye's sorry ass behind.

Kanye's a gazillionaire, a sought after producer and one of the best-selling artists out now. Critics and radio love him, and he's one of the few things keeping hip hop from altogether flatlining right now as a commercial genre. He's backing himself up at least as well as he needs to, I think.

Don't get me wrong, there's definitely a gap between how good Kanye is and how good he thinks he is. And his whining is often more spectacle than substantive. But it's who he is, and it keeps the people (like us) talking. I guarantee you he's somewhere right now gloating... and we'll see him on MTV for the next big bash saying the same type of crap. biggrin

Sounds like MTV didn't do right by not only musical artists/performers (I'm starting to think they might have setup Britney to fail) but certaintly the audience. It's just too bad an asshole like him has to make a good point...it might get lost on people.

The whole setup of the show was abysmal. They cheated everyone from the bands/artists to the audience. If I wanted to see Fall Out Boy, Kayne West or Linkin Park on this show, why the hell must I go to different parts of the casino to see them. Let's not forget about us watching the shit on MTV. After a while, I could have sworn Prince's people were behind the camera work for this show the way they were with the Aladdin DVD. All over the place and too damn chaotic for words. If Kayne was mad over this, then I'd understand cause that was a hot mess.

He sold weried storys about himself to tabliods

He talked in a fake high-pitched voice (had us ALL sold on that)

He even said he wore that surgical mask for pure shock-vaule!

and he had the ego in his infamous HIStory album trailer.

he was upset that he had to perform in one of the suites and not on the main stage and from all accounts he was pissed that Justin did both and he thougt that britney should have been regulated to one of the suites because according to him she hasn't had a hit in like 5 million years.... I also liked his answer when US

He said Honestly i don't care, I don't give a fuck about Britney performing lol lol

Kanye has a point about being in the small room.I'll give him that...he has a better point about Justin getting to do both as excessive (the adirmation MTV has for Justin is insane..they never gave Madonna that much love) However, he's a dumb shit if he really thinks Britney should have been in a small room for 30 seconds. The hype and the setup made sense...the terrible performance, didn't. For all her problems, she has sold so many million of records and is a household name....we can't for sure say you're going to be noteworthy and celebrated or notorious like she is in a few years...you might be playing the oldies circuit and have good reason to bitch!

The reason Kanye needs an MTV award, just like he needs a Grammy is not only because he's a child but because he knows hip-hop is the most fickle when it comes to staying power. There is LL Cool J, Jay-Z....I can't think of a whole lot more...am I wrong? I mean, really out there and selling a decent amount, charting with singles and albums. getting lots of mainstream press/support, etc. He doesn't win an MTV award...the hype can go away anytime and he'll be done.

At least Kanye appears to be...and hear me out...down to earth in his ego. I know that makes no sense but Kanye is simple and not eccentric in his "I'm the greatest ever" bullshit. It's simple, verbal comparisons. He's smart and understands pop culture, comes up with semi-apt comparisons...but then gets into racial shit and goes nuts.

It's nuts, yes, but he doesn't make it an art of saying he's the greatest. I mean, MJ's liner notes for "HIStory" are like an artform (as all the other stuff posted above). I don't doubt Kanye getting to that level but thankfully now, it's just simple bragging. It's still very disturbing.

VMA losses spark another Kanye tantrum

LAS VEGAS - Sour grapes from Kanye West — again. Shut out at the Video Music Awards, Kanye West threw a tantrum Sunday night in front of media and crew backstage as the MTV show was ending.

West, waiting for an elevator in a crowded hallway, began yelling about losing all five categories for which he was nominated.

"That's two years in a row, man ... give a black man a chance," West said, stomping around his entourage and directing his comments at a reporter. "I'm trying hard man, I have the ... number one record, man."

West said he never will return to MTV.

The rapper was nomination for five awards, including male artist of the year. This is the latest in a series of awards show outburst for West. Last year, he crashed the stage at the MTV Europe Awards after not winning for best vi

Look, as much as I love Kanye, he does go off in rants. But how could we had not expected this to happen. We know how he whines and throws tantrums when he doesn't win not one award. This is not unusual.

On the flip side, he does have a point. How in the hell could Justin Timberfake win all them damn awards and not Kanye. Hell at least Kanye actually does some kind of work to his music, while Justin bites off of Timbaland.....that is until he and Timbaland do a dance routine with him ripping Tim's pants off and along with them Tim's gym shorts which would reveal a penis ring.

And after that Timbaland would be banned from the MTV awards while Justin wouldn't even want Timbaland to produce an album for him.

I don't care what nobody says, Justin is a fake ass bitch, and he'll hang his own mother out to dry to cover his ass.
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

They showed the clip of his outburst backstage on Access Hollywood, and it wasn't really him pulling the race card. He was frustrated and hurt for several reasons. One because IMO:
Here he is with a highly anticipated new album, successful new single, and constantly working, and they shove him to the side for Britney Spears who's nothing but a joke right now. His live set at the suite was pretty damn good, but they edited it out, but instead, made us watch that trainwreck in motion.

I like Kanye, but his rants are usually dumb as hell, but this one kinda made sense

Kanye West: MTV Exploited Britney & Me
By Brian Orloff

Kanye West, Britney Spears

Photo by: INF; Frank Micelotta / Getty

Kanye West, never known for holding his tongue, is railing against MTV after leaving empty-handed from Sunday's Video Music Awards, charging that the network misled him – and also exploited Britney Spears.

"They exploited Britney in helping to end her career," West told deejay JJ at New York radio station Z100 on Monday. "When Britney was opening , near the end, I felt so bad for her. I said, 'Man, it's a dirty game. This game will chew you up and spit you out.'" (Listen to the interview here.)

The rapper doesn't just take umbrage with the handling of Spears, whose performance has been maligned by critics and fans alike.

West tells Z100 he felt misled and "betrayed" by the network, and has promised to never work with MTV again. The rapper says he's already cancelled planned appearances on TRL to promote his new album Graduation. Specifically, West takes issue with the way performances were set up – that he should have performed on the main stage and not from a private suite where many artists performed for small groups of fans throughout the telecast.

"I wasn't mad that I just didn't win any awards," West says. "For me, made it seem like performing on the main stage was a bad thing, and the suites were just so great. It was my dream when I made 'Stronger' to open up the VMAs with a real power performance.

"And I just feel like I got betrayed by them," the rapper continues. "I feel like they tried to make it seem like I was so into everything that was going on in the show."

Another sticking point: Pamela Anderson's racy introduction on the telecast. (Anderson appeared in a music video for West's single "Touch the Sky.") Before West performed "Good Life" from his suite, the former Baywatch star told viewers, "One of the best times I've ever had was making out with the next performer in the middle of the desert. I think I had my tongue so far down his throat I could taste his fiancée – and I might need a repeat performance later tonight."

"I'm engaged, and I feel like it's disrespectful to my relationship," West says of Anderson's remarks, which he claims the network assured him would not happen.

When JJ pointed out that West was being pretty blunt by speaking out against MTV, the rapper responded in a characteristically unapologetic fashion: "I have a connection in the fans' heart that the press can't stop."

There was no immediate response from MTV. Stay tuned

Are you kidding?!? MTV has been kissing Madonna's ass for years. They'll never stop. Madonna is almost like "The Queen" of MTV. lol

Madonna is the queen of MTV and was beloved for many years (still is) but the level of blind admiration for Justin Timberlake...I've never seen anything like it! Not even back in the day when they had Madonna weekends, which where awesome!

Kanye West: MTV Exploited Britney & Me
By Brian Orloff

Stay tuned

Wow... I agree with him on several points.
