I hope we arent impressed that she directed a video, the video is simple its all shot in a club, it seems alot of it was recycled footage also through the video. Im not impressed by Rihanna because she depends on others too much, when she went to record this album she said "write me some good songs", im not impressed with that.

Maybe you should ask yourself what means more to you. The artist's name in the credits or the actual quality of the music. Many of today's artists write their own lyrics and melodies and they suck. Given a choice between that and someone singing a good song written by someone else, I'll take the good song thank you very much.

Same thing really, just better songs and better voices back then. But lets remember that alot of Rihannas music is not just not written by her, its written by the people giving it to her, its based off of someone elses stuff. This is not a shot to Rihanna but more the laziness of todays so called producers/writers. What if a singer came out now and sang nothing but James Brown songs and passed them off as his own?
