MADONNNA vs. MOZART ??? Vote: Madonna Vs Mozart

BBC World are running an online poll looking at Visionaries - in this poll Madonna is put up against Mozart - with advocates speaking on behalf of both (BBC Radio 1 DJ Edith Bowman on behalf of Madonna). this reminds me of a few weeks back when i had a date over and everything was going just fine until he said i noticed a few prince songs came up on your shuffle play. i hate prince. every song he sings, it's so overdone and there's so much drama. i hate how prince is potrayed as an "artist" when he can do nothing and he's just garbage. sure, i know madonna can't sing that well but she is a true artist like prince can only wish to be. she writes the best songs and she is just a talent that is uncompared on earth. prince is just a bad singer and the world thinks he's an artist, what a laugh. i was like "omfg, he's gorgeous he's absolutely perfect he's on my couch and he's ready to have sex. but i just can't do it now"
i had to just send him home without any action after that  and true love lives on lollipops and crisps | |

i know, especially those artists that take a complete song and just change a line or throw a "come on now uh huh" in there and get a writing credit.. those guys are just on another level completely
don't get me wrong tho i know madonna does write a lot of her stuff and all and that she's got a good ear for a nice tune and all but in the end she's a true talent at working the commercial/marketing machine. that's where her artistry lies. people like mozart and to a lesser extent prince are true composers who live and breathe music. .. Blonde Ambition, The Girlie Show, Drowned World, Invention and Confessions are performace art pieces done as a concert. i've yet to see another performer make as many statements about society, religion, culture and sexuality in one show as Madge manages to do. It's *meant* to create controversy. I mean...how many guys has Mozart...umm...oh...it's a musical comparison? I guess Wolfgang wins this hands down. In 1984, he played piano while upside down and held by a bunch of guys wearing stockings and wigs. In 1984, Madonna..ummm, did something else upside down.
