Not sure if it will be the lead single from his album though. I'm still not sure if his CD will be released in late 2007 or early 2008.

I have a feeling that the album will come out 2008 and then for some reason the other discs wont be released to follow it up like advertised. Just a hunch but i can see this album coming out and then another gap.

Erykah I can tell just wants to get off a major, she makes her money touring and could make more money indie (has she and the production team "FREAKquency" started a label?) she has built in aduience which is not going to get much bigger(on a major label anyway) and fortunately for her not any smaller.

the song by the way is amazing, love it. Maxwell has always said he was inspired and listened to Bjork (didnt he say she was an inspiration for "Embrya" album, anyway the chimes sound almost "vespertine" like?
the vocal arrangements are like soulful Bjork phrasing almost, and love the writting, I like where he could take r&b/soul or however you would box him. the guys from Sade produced this with him?

Maxwell Resurfaces With New Song; CD Due Next Year


Maxwell is finally giving fans a peek of his long-in-the-works new album. Today, the R&B singer uploaded a snippet of "Pretty Wings" on his MySpace site, the singer's first communication about new music since announcing his next album, "Black Summer's Night," on the site in October 2006.

New Columbia urban music exec Kyambo "Hip-Hop" Joshua tells Billboard he expects the album, originally due in February 2007, next year. "Maxwell's still working with Sade's band, his tried-and-true team," he says. "He took some time off and now he's ready."

"He's recorded so much material that he's got a couple of albums done," he continues. "So, he might be going out on the road touring for this album soon. I won't say the album will drop first-quarter 2008, but [next] summer sounds good."

Maxwell's last album, "Now," was released in 2001 and has sold more than 1.7 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.[b]
