Y--r Weekend Fixx Part 1: Danish club jams, SSS, Timbo, ICD whoring, Oi Oi Oi anticipation

::: WEEKEND FIXX

Open ramblings of things on my mind, et cetera

Private / My Secret Lover (2007)

[ OK, when I was in Denmark, this was THE. JAM. I saw the video for this song when I was watching a Danish channel called The Voice. I was killing it to this! ]

Sneaky Sound System / UFO (Director's Cut) (2007)

[ inspiration for this thread came from some dude rockin a sneaky sound system t-shirt when I was out one nite. How random! ]

[ I love this youtube clip from The Futureheads. I can't stop playing their last album. Why, lord, why did I miss their gig last year. I think I didn't have any money? Or I was tired after a session. I have no idea. I was playing "Fallout" and most of News & Tributes on my iPod during my trip to Europe last week. I loved looking out the window playing this album. ]

[ Speaking of Europe, DAMN, Denmark loves them some SHOCK VALUE lollll. They were playing the hell out of Timbaland's "The Way I Are" when I was there over the weekend. I went out shopping one day and I swear I heard the song in like 3 or 4 stores. Went out and they were jammin it @ the parties. It was cool tho because I was jammin. lol It was funny, I was jammin to the song in a clothing store in Copenhagen and a girl started taking to me in Danish -- she thought I was Danish[!!!] -- I think it was my fashion???, didn't figure me a tourist @ all lol. Even though I didn't understand her, I nodded and said "TAK!" lolll. ]

[ CALVIN HARRRIS is playing his first U.S. show here in NY next weeeek. I'm going to go insaneeee ahhhhHH!!!! My ass is going to be SKIPPING DOWN THE STREET!!! *DEAD* ]

Hey there!!

Yep! Got the SSS album on Import. It. was. expensive. But worth it. I think you can get it @ Virgin Megastore if there's one in your area.

Funny you say Bronski Beat because it does have that vibe in the opening now that you say it. Couldn't quite put my finger on it at first.

There's a track on there called "I D E W 2 L U" that I blast a lot.

LOL Well @ least you gave it a try. Their album has a dated 90s club sound to it, that is kind of a niche groove. I'm a Dance music whore, so I need my particular fixxes. Ummm...I dunno, if you like 90s club you can get into the album and stuff that isn't too cerebral maybe you'll feel it? Maybe not? Can't win em all.

However, I think you should keep your coins and go to a NOISEttes concert instead. :lightbulb: smile Aren't they headed your way?

BTW, unkempt, you get brownie points for even ATTEMPTING to get into some SSS.

Most Americans are like "shake Errr, this ain't hiphop! :exitsdancefloor:"

falloff *DEAD.*

The weekend must come now! I'm so ansy to go out (if this thread wasn't proof enough).

Since I know no one is reading this thread, I will openly say I went to a dance club on Thursday and was killing it to RIHANNA'S UMBRELLA. I forget the name of the club mix, but it was hot.

No, no Noisettes this go 'round Im afraid. The closest they are coming is DC,I think. Actually 90's club shit is pretty cool from time to time. Im glad you posted these clips. Sneaky Sound System is def. on my radar, now.
Have a blast this weekend. Once I get this paper submitted its on for me too.
