This is what I'll be buying when Kanye and 50 do their battle...... Not getting caught up in the media war over nothing, not that i planned on buying either one anyway, heres what my money will go on this Tuesday.....
Ann Wilson of HEART easily one of the best Female Voices of all time, and the best Female Rock voice ever. This is her first solo record though its filled with duets with Kd lang,Alison Krauss,Elton John and her sister Nancy Wilson and has a few solo songs too. Now im sure this album will not even debut on the Top 200, and 50 and Kanye will sell 300-400 thousand and Kanye will brag about it, but guess what? its meaningless, someone like Ann Wilson has been recording and releasing music since 1973, do you think 34 years from now we will be hearing about or seeing a new Kanye or 50 cent release? Well good on you! Biggest waste of time ever - as if it's really gonna happen. Somehow I reckon give or take a few years, 50 cent would end up performing his own music in one form. It's an absolute joke. Would be great if he did stop though

Mind you, Kanye did wind me up ever so slightly the other day. I have a lot of respect for the man because I actually liked his previous 2 albums and for me to like modern day rap music is a hell of a feat.
However, he compared his rivalry with Justin Timberlake to Prince's 'rivalry' with Michael Jackson. Well I'm sorry Kanye, but I can't really see why that comparison can be made. Neither Kanye nor Timberlake have the longevity behind them that Prince & Michael Jackson had in the 1980s or the diversity in style in my opinion. Prince & MJ's rivalry extended far beyond record sales though - both toured extensively in the 80s, released groundbreaking videos in the 80s etc. I can't say the same for either West or Timberlake in the 00's. Plus the 80s was a completely different decade and if we are to admit Prince had competition, he certainly would have had more than just one major artist to compete with for record sales. | |

I acutally heard most of both of their cds from someone who got promos earlier this week and they're boring. Kanye is more inventive but his beats are all re-hashed, its like Timbaland on crack and 50 cents cd is a joke with Thicke and Timberlake tracks.
