Cinnamon234 said: I mean his dancing is a sort of a joke. I really don't see how anyone could think this guy is some great talent. He has a whiny annoying falsetto, can't dance, has no stage presence and is just missing that overall "It" quality. He isn't particularly good at anything and is really a marginal talent. I mean damn, I'd even rather see his ex Britney perform because at least she has some stage presence and keeps you interested in her shows.

I have the "Future/Sex" CD, and while I don't think that Justin lives up to the hype that's been bestowed upon him, I tried to watch the concert with a non-critical eye.
Still, I was suprised by Justin's overall lack of a strong stage presence. I was kinda bored with the whole concert to be honest. I've been taken to concerts for acts I really wasn't a fan of, but ended up enjoying the concert because of the artist's/group's energy and stage presence. I just didn't feel that with Justy. I'm not a big fan of MJ either, but to his credit, he had a great stage presence in his heydey. Of course, we all know that Prince has an amazing stage presense, but I'll spare you the comparisons. Justy's dance moves seemed repetitive and a bit overly rehearsed and stiff. It looked like he was just going through the motions and not really enjoying himself. On a supeficial note, Justin's speaking voice is wimpy, so it's odd to listen to him try to hype up the crowd without any real force in his voice. I saw him last february and I've just watched the show on HBO...
The concert on TV looks SO much better (the stage is pure crap, you cant see nothing). I made a thread a while ago asking orgers to give him credits... Anyway, The kid aint all that talented, but he put a GREAT show hands down. Of course he lacks natural talent and stage presence but he still manages to sing live the whole concert which is surprising since his concert is entirely based on dancing. And the kid got enough good songs to keep the two hour long show interesting. The only thing I hated is the way he tries to play guitar. That looks TOO STAGED AND fake. He tries too hard. If you are not good enough, Don't try to play guitar. He reminds me Madonna ... And I'm still not convinced by his dancing skills, as long as all his moves are choreographed he looks good, but when he tries to improvise on Damn girl he looks lame. He just doesn't know what to do. Anyway I definitely give him credits, he worked hard and tried to challenge himself. [Edited 9/13/07 6:54am]

I saw him in may, from the first row of the lower tier coming from the runway, best seats I've ever been in. Usually with a front row you have a gap and a barrier and the stage is higher - but how it was set out we were eye level with him and could litterally touch him. I loved the show and it came across great on HBO (from what I saw on Youtube). I can see what people say about not being able to see half the stage if you were there, the stage was high and came up in the middle so if you were on the barstools (like one of my friends) or at the front of standing you wouldn't see an awful lot. But on HBO you could really see how amazing his show was. He used the WHOLE stage really well so that wherever you were sat you would see him and not just his back. Can't wait for the dvd to come out.

I guess I'm in the minority (don't worry, I'm used to it) but I thought the show was kinda bland and boring. There were NO surprises to me. It was pretty predictable. Some of the song arrangements were good but that's expected at his level. I wasn't that impressed.

The stage hurt the show, i mean goddamn i would be pissed cause you could barely see him sometimes, and the show was bland, because Justin tried to hard, and the ballads hurt the show, his audience doesn't care if he can play 30 instruments, they want to hear the songs, and does ballads weren't cutting it

He was BORING; not the stage. His stage presence is miniscule. Prince has had a couple of wack stages but never fails to have stage presence. That falls completely on the performer and he failed in my opinion. [Edited 9/14/07 10:46am]
