According to the Youtube site, Luther Vandross rebuked Boy George backstage because he felt George wasn't singing on par with him. Given Vandross' history of dealing with other artists, that would not be surprising. After all, what else would you expect from a pair of divas! biggrin biggrin
THE TRAFFIC JAMMERS, The Org's house band: VAINANDY -- lead singer; NAJEE -- bass; THE AUDIENCE -- guitar; PHUNKDADDY -- rhythm guitar; ALEX de PARIS -- keyboards; Da PRETTYMAN -- keyboards; FUNKENSTEIN -- drums. HOLD ON TO YOUR DRAWERS!

Luther is all: "Oh hell, I can do this shit sitting down!" Then he kept steppin' all over Boy's lines! Damn.

Also, damn, Luther was at a pretty big weight in this vid... maybe even his heaviest. sad

One more thing... you know how these things always end in a hug fest? Notice how they barely shook hands at the end of this? lol

Non-Male Pop Royalty in all their glory.

On one of those MTV Concerts years ago Culture Club was playing "Black Money" and Helen Terry was rolling! Singing all kinds of runs and Boy George rolled his eyes like the Non-Male Pop Royalty that he was/is.

From what I hear, Luther didnt get along too well with Freddie Jackson, or En Vounge either (misspelled)...I loved Luther, but I think he was a male diva...

I don't think Luther was at his biggest in that clip. I recall him being bigger than that at some point.

Too smooth? Do you mean they were overproduced or too polished or something? Because if so then I can agree with that.

The Anita Vs Luther tour was the MOST notorious. They met their matches(each other) both divas were equally bitchy and they deserved each other.

Lets not 4get his infamous beef with ARETHA FRANKLIN, you have to either be a damn fool or,,,,,a DAMN fool in order to mess with that woman lol

Luther's bitter rivalry with En Vogue was the case of young newcomers (En Vogue) that downright refused to be told what to do as an opening act to a veteran (Luther).

At least both friendships were intact long after the feuds were over.
cool

BTW, Luther's biggest f*** up as a producer/songwriter was telling Aretha how to sing a song that he co-wrote for her. THAT'S like Timbaland trying to tell Prince how the play a piano!!!! disbelief lol
