i wouldnt call it a chic rip off, if you listen closely there's no Chic sound to it, just merely a groove

The bass was the only part of the song that was "Chic" to me.

But everything else was pretty much original.

Either or it's still a great funk cut.

This inspired Roger's "More Bounce to the Ounce" so I'm told though no talk box was in this song.

The basslines, especially on the opening lick on the bass riff. Bounce Skate can't hold a candle to More Bounce as that song simply DESTROYS it. But again, Bounce Skate, just like Another One Bites The Dust and Rapture by Blondie ALL bit off of Good Times.
