Snap

"young folks"
love this song and many of their others
i actually found out about them by mistake a couple months ago
just surfing thru napster's list of new releases
i checked them out and landed on this particular song
burned it to CD and played it over and over
i had dinner with a very critical music friend of mine
my friend is a terrific songwriter, producer, and performer
i really wanted to get his thoughts on this song
so i brought it with me and had him listen to it in the restaurant
when he was done, he set down the earphones on the table
i asked him, "so... how did you like that song?"
he said, "i really like it"
i tried to tear it apart from a producer's standpoint
but my friend, who i deem more critical than me, thought it all just perfect

anyway... yeah, i like it a lot!

almost as great are "teen love" from their previous album
and the "girl talk remix" of "let's call it off"
napster has some good acoustic versions of these as well

lol if it weren't for friends in the music scene, i'd be left out in the cold half the time! last year, when i went to sxsw, i discovered so many bands...i ran out and bought so much new music when i got back. that's the key, i think...just go to local 5 dollar shows that have good talk. a lot of the times the opening bands are just as good. besides friends in the scene, i find out about most "unknown" acts through shows.
