80s jam of the day: "Everything Will B-Fine" by Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam (1987)

I remember buying the 'Spanish Fly' album mainly because of this song.I heard it on the radio when the album was first released and I rushed out to buy it.I found a handful of other great songs too ("I Promise You","Lost In Emotion","Head To Toe") but I think "Everything Will B-Fine" is probably my favorite song by them.

A really strong album, yeah that was a cool thing about that time, you could hear a song NOT released as a single on the Radio, good luck on that in todays market. Such a great time right there with Lisa Lisa/Expose and the Cover Girls all putting out music. And guess what, you didnt have Full Force betting the Cover Girls who would sell more.

This song is the CUT! This album is also a must-have. Every song is fantastic. My favorite is still "Face In The Crowd."

Ok i think i was thinking "You'll Never Change" from the first album which wasnt a single but got alot of play. Everything Will B Fine must have been fourth because "Someone to Love Me For Me" i believe was third.

Oh man...
U been hurt to the point
To the point where u hit the floor!

dancing jig

FUNKY!

Love the whips (woo-KEESH!)..then it goes straight in2 Head 2 Toe, then Face In The Crowd, and then a classy vocal jam to Someone To Love Me 4 Me. The album is hott.

My favorite Lisa Lisa song is probably "You'll Never Change"
Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.

that's correct. There were 4 singles from this album, released in this order:

"Head To Toe"
"Lost In Emotion"
"Someone To Love Me For Me"
"Everything Will B-Fine"

I think it's a shame that "I Promise You" wasn't released as a single. That's a HOT groove right there!....kinda reminds me of something that Prince would have done back then.

I found this one on 12" and I have no idea why I didn't buy it. In fact, I found a lot of great cheap 12" that for some reason I just didn't buy..If I ever get back to that store, I'll have to pick them up!

This is yet another reason i really miss SINGLES being released and VINYL. What an amazing year that was just with LISA LISA, EXPOSE and the Cover Girls, thank god i held on to all that vinyl and stuff, because almost none of those mixes and stuff ever got onto a cd.

I remember when they released this song as a single,it was different than the album version. It was slightly remixed, with a heavier percussion sound.I wonder if that's the version on the 12"?

I ended up seeing it again but it was $3...that's not expensive but considering the other store I bought both "Head To Toe" and "Lost In Emotion" for a dollar each, I decided to pass and maybe pick it up another day if it's still there. Ended up buying a lot of great stuff today, including finding Roberta Kelly's "Trouble Maker" for only $2...makes up paying $8 for "Zodaic Lady".
