A bit pointless for the die-hard fans but seeing the commercial for this and the packaging makes me want to get it anyway. The DVD however will be a much more rewarding release. Can't wait for that.

I do agree...I have all of Bowie's albums... For some reason I found it vital to pull out OUTSIDE today and listen to it after 4 years...I have to say Brian Eno and Bowie did quite an experimental album with outstanding results...not Bowie's best but as far as progession goes...GRIPPING! Every minute of last night is on my face today....

Funny that you should mention that cuz I'm getting back into it too. I've always liked that album but one problem for me was always the length and number of interludes. I think it really disrupts the flow of the album. Once you understand the storyline, there's no need to hear the segues. So I made a cd of just the 13 full-length songs and 2 b-sides and I was able to get into it much more. Now I love it completely. One of his darkest, most interesting works.

I agree...the interludes are long...I should follow suit and do what you did... Every minute of last night is on my face today....

I even stuck on the Pet Shop Boys' remix of 'Hallo Spaceboy' and NIN remix of 'The Heart's Filthy Lesson'. It's much more listenable without all the inbetween garbage. I wish he'd put out 2. Contamination.

no, the singles collection was not remastered, and is completely out of print as well, so that makes the whole "but what about the singles collection?" argument irrelevant. now i know what this is all about. now i know exactly what i am.

which makes it the better collection to get. the 1999 virgin remasters are nothing to crow about. too bottom-heavy to sound current instead of capturing the feel of what they SHOULD sound like. and is completely out of print as well, so that makes the whole "but what about the singles collection?" argument irrelevant.
it's out of print, but not too hard to come by used, at the original list price.
