Sorry to hear about that, bro. If you can stomach a tune from Parade, how about Sometimes It Snows In April? "All good things they say never last/ And love isn't love until it's past". I think that last line means you only realise how much you love someone when they're no longer there. That's when you know how much that love meant. “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

vainandy said: Thank you so much everyone. Those were some really special and great song dedications. I can't tell you guys how much better I felt when I logged onto the org and saw this thread was three pages long. You guys have really come out in full force and showed lots of love. I can't tell you have much I appreciate it. I know we're all just faceless screen names in the internet but this thread has been really comforting after all the family and friends have left and gone home. In a way, we are all friends right here on the org. Anyway, the funeral was absolutely beautiful. I saw a lot of my mother's friends that I have not seen in ages. Beautiful flowers and plants were sent. The pain didn't hit me until I got ready to leave the house to go the funeral. I broke down so hard that every nerve in my body was tingling. I didn't think I was going to be able to drive so I tried to call someone to pick me up. I couldn't reach anyone because everyone had already left. I had no choice but to pull myself together, get my strength, and drive myself because my mother deserved my presense at her funeral. I arrived late and one of my best friends said....."He wasn't tore up. Y'all know him. He just has to make a fashionable entrance". The songs played were "Hard To Say Goodbye To Yesterday" by G.C. Cameron and "Jesus Is Love" by The Commodores. The organist played "Amazing Grace" and "In The Garden". I would have loved to have ended the ceremony with "Do Not Pass Me By" by MC Hammer to liven things up but you know some people would just not understand. Anyway, once again, thanks. You guys are the best! . . [Edited 8/31/07 17:45pm] First of all, your Mom is absolutely beautiful...thanks for the photo. I'm glad to know that you're holding up under the circumstances and were able to give Mom a nice home-going service. I lost my Mom 2 years ago and while I was going through some of her jewelry today I shed a few tears, but I am always comforted by memories of what a great Mom she was and the wonderful times we had. Life has both laughter and tears...as many times as you have made us laugh around here, shedding some tears with you is the least we can do. God Bless, B. Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

I recently lost my cousin/godsister and my aunt is in the 4th stage of cancer. I'm not going to say the same ole tired things people say when someone loses a loved one. I'm just going to say "We all love you Vainandy" Because we do "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

It still hurts like hell but Rhondab was absolutely right when she said that it eventually gets better as more time goes by. It's only been a week but I'm back on a few of the other threads raising hell. When Andy starts raising hell, you know he's feeling a little bit better. Andy is a four letter word.
