Love Land, as in Love Land by The Watts 103rd Street Rhythm Band? If that's the cut your talking about, I love that song. It always makes me feel better. Hopefully it'll cheer vain up too
It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

pray for you buddy..

but seriously, this is vainandy's momma...the before mentions songs just wont do...here's a more appropriate tune to play:

Chorus:
She's a brick----house
Mighty mighty, just lettin' it all hang out
She's a brick----house
The lady's stacked and that's a fact,
ain't holding nothing back.

She's a brick----house
She's the one, the only one,
who's built like a amazon
We're together everybody knows,
and here's how the story goes.

Verse:
1. She knows she got everything
a woman needs to get a man, yeah.
How can she use, the things she use
36-24-36, what a winning hand!

(Chorus)

Verse:
2. The clothes she wears, the sexy ways,
make an old man wish for younger days
She knows she's built and knows how to please
Sure enough to knock a man to his knees

(Chorus)

Bridge:
Shake it down, shake it down now (repeat)
Space for sale...

Zoom - THe Commodors

Whoa, I like to greet the sun each mornin'
And walk amongst the stars at night
I'd like to know the taste of honey in my life
In my life

Well, I've shared so many pains
And I played so many games
Ah, but everyone finds the right way
Somehow, some way, some day

Whoa, zoom, I'd like to fly far away from here
Where my mind can see fresh and clear
And I'll find the love that I long to see
People can be what they wanna be

Ooh...ooh...ooh...ooh...ooh...ooh...ooh...ooh...
Ooh...ooh...ooh...ooh...ooh...ooh...ooh...ooh...

Whoa, ho, I wish the world were truly happy
Living as one
I wish the world they call Freedom
Someday would come, some day would come

Whoa, zoom, I'd like to fly far away from here
Where my mind can see fresh and clear
And I'll find the love that I long to see
Everybody can be what they wanna be
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, hey, baby

For you both...

Heaven Is 10 Zillion Light Years Away - Stevie Wonder

They say that heaven is 10 zillion light years away
And just the pure at heart will walk her righteous streets someday
They say that heaven is 10 zillion light years away
But if there is a God, we need Him now
"Where is your God?"
That's what my friends ask me
And I say it's taken Him so long
'Cause we've got so far to come...

Tell me people

Why can't they say that hate is 10 zillion light years away
Why can't the light of good shine God's love in every soul
Why must my color black make me a lesser man
I thought this world was made for every man
He loves us all, that's what my God tells me
And I say it's taken Him so long
'Cause we've got so far to come...

But in my heart I can feel it, yeah,
Feel His spirit
Feel it, yeah, feel His spirit

I can't say that heaven is 10 zillion light years away
But if so let all be pure at heart
Just to walk her righteous streets I pray
Let God's love shine within to save our evil souls
For those who don't believe will never see the light
"Where is my God?" - He lives inside of me
And I say it's taken Him so long
'Cause we've got so far to come

No people, "where is your God?"
Inside please let Him be
And I say it's taken Him so long
'Cause we've got so far to come...

But if you open your heart you can feel it
Feel His spirit
Feel it, feel His spirit
Feel it, you can feel His spirit
I opened my heart one morning and
I sho nuff could feel it
Feel His spirit
You can feel it, feel His spirit
You can feel it, feel His spirit

Can't Stop Running - Todd Rundgren

Time marches on
I learn to crawl, I learn to walk
You couldn't stop me from running
Stop me from running

Before I heard my name
Before I learned to talk
I knew I was running to something
Running to something
Into the arms of my God

Time marches on
And I awaken to the world
And I'm still running to something
Running to something far away

Unseen by the others in the herd
I'm only running to something
Running to something
Into the arms of my dream

CHORUS:
I can't stop running
I can't stop running
I have a vision of myself breaking the finish line string
I still can hear it
This dream is calling
So I'll keep running

Time marches on
I start to trip, I start to fall
And now I'm running from something
Running from something on my tail

Can't turn to look, can't hear the call
I'm only running from something
Running from something
Running in fear I will fail

CHORUS

Time marches on and on
And the strength to run may soon be gone
Now I watch the young ones coming
And it's on their legs I'm running
Into the arms of my God

CHORUS

Still I Rise - Yolanda Adams

Shattered, but I'm not broken
Wounded, but time will heal
Heavy the load, the cross I bear
Lonely the road I trod, I dare

Shaken, but here I stand
Weary, Still I press on
Long are the nights, the tears I cry
Dark are the days, no sun in the sky, yes

CHORUS:
Yet still I rise
Never to give up
Never to give in against all odds
Yet still I rise
High above the clouds
At times I feel low
Yet still I rise

Sometimes I'm troubled, but not in despair
Struggling, I make my way through
Trials, they come to make me strong
I must endure, I must hold on

CHORUS

Above all my problems
Above all my eyes can see
Knowing God is able to strengthen me
To strengthen me

Yet still I rise
Never to give up
Oh, never to give in against all odds
Yet still I rise
High above the clouds
At times I feel low
Yet still I
I need to know which way to go
Yet still I
At times I feel low
Yet still I rise
Yet still I rise

She Used To Be My Girl - The Ojays

I had a cousin that was murdered around the time that song was out. She was not only my cousin, but my best friend. She was only 10 at the time of her death. I recall SUTBMG being played after her funeral. Everytime I hear it, I think about her. rose

hug I'm so sorry about your loss. During your grieving process, please, please remember to celebrate your mother's life. It doesn't have to be the most solemnest of occasions.

At my mother's funeral I played all of her favorite songs. I didn't care if anyone thought they were inappropriate or not sad, they were the songs that when my mother heard them, she was always smiling and that's the image of my mother that I needed to keep with me.

So I dedicate to your mother, her absolute favorite song, by whichever artist that made it even if that's Alice Cooper. lol

Play the one that'll make you smile, when you remember her singing along to it or dancing to it. Let that be the memory of your mother that you carry with you as you continue on your journey.

So sorry for the loss of your mother. Keep the pleasant memories close to you. The only two songs that come to mind are "Goin' Up Yonder"~ Walter Hawkins and "Soon and Very Soon"~Andre Crouch. I wanted the latter for my dad's funeral, but that song among other secular songs that trigger memories of him.
"Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!

Comforter - CeCe Winans dove

verse1:
Faithful friend and father
I've called you through the years.
You've been great physician when sickness lingered near.
Through distressing moments your name is new and sweet
You've become comforter to me.

chorus:
You are comforter that's who you are to me.
Comforter a name that fits so perfectly.
Peace that passes all understanding
Comforter is who you are to me.

verse2:
To the grieving family who weeps for loved ones gone.
The pain of separation consumes another home.
On the waves of sorrow
You walk with perfect ease
Comforter is who the whole world needs.

repeat chorus:
You are comforter that's who you are to me.
Comforter a name that fits so perfectly.
Peace that passes all understanding
Comforter is who you are to me

Hook:
Peace giver, Life changer
Joy giver, Peace river
Waymaker, Life changer
Peace giver, Joy giver

Repeat chorus:
You are comforter that's who you are to me.

Comforter is who you are to me

The Heart of Life by John Meyer

Pain throws your heart to the ground
Love turns the whole thing around
No it won't all go the way it should
But I know the heart of life is good

Pain throws your heart to the ground
Love turns the whole thing around
Fear is a friend who's misunderstood
But I know the heart of life is good
I know it's good

I'm so sorry...

Sometimes words are hard to say, and songs can feel like your heart is being ripped out. But I like the choices people have been suggesting so far; there's not much more I can contribute other than something like "The Old Rugged Cross." It is something older generations, I am sure, are familiar with and might be a bit more sacred or comforting to those family members and friends.

Lenny Kravitz - "Thinking Of You"

Tell me mama is your life a better change ?
And tell me mama
Would you live your life the same
Or come back and rearrange ?
Tell me mama how is freedom ?

Oh I'm thinking of you
And all the things that you wanted me to be
And I'm trying now
Oh I'm thinking of you
And all the things that you wanted me to be

Tell me mama
Are the colors deeper shades ?
And tell me mama
Are there great big brass parades ?
Does the sun shine night and day ?
Tell me mama no more sleeping
Tell me mama no more weeping

I'm thinking of you
And all the things that you wanted me to be
And I'm trying now

Oh I'm thinking of you
And all the things that you wanted me to be
And I'm trying now

Oh I'm thinking of you
And all the things that you wanted me to be
And I'm trying now

Oh I'm thinking of you
And all the things that you wanted me to be yeah

Hey mama, hey mamama, mama
No, no, no, no, no
Oh no, no, no, no, no ....
Hey

Tell me mama is it just the way they say ?
Tell me mama
And tell me mama are you missing me the way
That I'm missing you today ?
Tell me mama can you hear me ?

Oh I'm thinking of you
And all the things that you wanted me to be
And I'm trying now
[Repeat 5X]

Oh I'm thinking of you
Thinking of you ....

Truly sorry to hear about the loss of your Mother. I think "Amazing Grace" is a great song to play for your Mom, as I'm sure she was an Amazing Grace. My sympathy goes out to you and your family.
