No, they are always shocked I like Prince. I was listening to a mix CD I put together at work yesterday with Will Downing and some U.K. Artist... and many others...

Some said... wow, who is that, I like it. lol Then... Surface "Happy" came on... and she literally started to move to the beat. Only you can make me Happy..., I was cracking up... I said, "Do you know this is like 20 years old!?" Oh my god, I shocked even myself! falloff

I then realized... Wow, I am getting old. wink

Most people cannot peg what I listen to, because I like a few artist that are not really listened to much anymore, or at least, no body I know.

I have not been interested in too much that is new, per say.

Actually no, and this feels like a bit of a dilemma right now: I'm supposed to be taking some press photos for a rap album I produced. What the hell do I wear? lol

I've found out over the years that most white hiphop artists in Europe dress up rather like bohemian hippies, with somewhat baggier pants.

Perfect. lol

But back to the subject,
I fall into the problem all the time. Because im young and dark skin,
and because im a musician, people think im some type of idiot savÄnt. That i don't know shit, people never expect that i've read stuff like Proust, keruoac, joyce, shit even hemmingway.
Im constantly stereotyped,
you can't be a smart dark musician,
or be part black and hispanic and play guitar
Just because your a biracial youth, your suppose to wear baggy jeans, listen to hip hop.
I remember when i was younger and started playing guitar, i got alot of shit because i wasn't into basketball like the others cats from my block
Guitar is for white kids,
And i speak correctly, omg you don't know what i go through because of that.
its been like that all my life, i should be used to it
but it still gets me
