The Human League

I've got a terrible, very serious existential (if not metaphysical) problem.

I don't know if i like the Human League or not. I've heard several of their albums & i just can't know if i dig or hate this band... confused

What do u think?

If you are a dedicated New Wave or Synth-Pop fan, then it would be a crime to not like that great band from Sheffield. wink

They are a singles band. None of their albums fully hold up on their own. I think it was more on style than on substance. IMO, the singers are pretty flat and the lead isn't that great of a vocalist. In concert they are pretty terrible.

The best electro-pop band of the early 80's. Dare is a masterpiece and Don't you want me and Keep feelin' fascination are timeless songs...The rest of their career is blah, tough
My choice? I would purchase Dare and a compilation...

i adore the Human League.

Yeah, they are bad.... but in a good way.

Dare and Hysteria are both albums that I played the shit out of back in the day, along with the Fascination EP.

I love the Ware/Marsh/Oakey first incarnation of the band.

The CD reissues have all the non-album singles on them too razz
This one sometimes gets a spin too - it's kind of a dub version of Dare. cool
