Remember Billy Lawrence?

:::

Ok, I know I'm not the only one here who remembers this talent.

I have both of her LPs: 1993's One Might Say and 1997's Paradise.

The latter was executive produced by Tone & Poke (aka The Trackmasters). At the time they were building her up as their muse, kind of like Janet was to Jam&Lewis and early Kelis was to the Neptunes.

Her most buzzworthy single was "Come On" featuring a rap by MC Lyte. This was a BET and urban radio hit at the time. Never got MTV crossover success, but was a solid R&B fave, I do recall.

I've missed her on the scene ever since. She's done some background work on tracks such as Blaque's Bring It All To Me (feat. JC Chasez) (1999) [plus, she co-wrote this song along with the album tune "Leny"] and minor vocal collabs with Ma$e and Smilez & Southstar "Tell Me" as late as 2002 (although, her vocals weren't credited in the single's promotion).

Anyone have any idea what she's up to these days? I am a solid fan of hers.

I remember her. She had a nice voice. She sounds a little like Coko from SWV.

I remember Come On as the single from Billy's second album.

I also remember her debut single, Happiness, from her debut album as well. She should have been popular.
