Britney's "Gimme More" Versus Madonna's "The Beat Goes on"

Man...Britney really owns madonna's ass. Oldfrapp's tune is dreadful.

Madonna - "The Beat Goes On"
tho' I battled blind
love is a fate resigned
memories mar my mind
love it is a fate resigned

Over futile odds
and laughed at by the Gods
and now the final frame
Love is a losing game

I'll take The Beat Goes On and a few seconds of Candy over Gimme More.

Both songs are average. Both Madonna and Britney Spears have done better.

giggle For real, I've had less than 24 hours with the Britney track and heard it 2.5 times, so it might still grow on me.

Nope, it means that it has a good chance of being a hit.

I'm glad Madonna's crap track is not her new single. But it does worry me nonetheless.

They're there
but just barely.
You just have look for 'em closely.
And when you do locate 'em,
you'll find 'em to be a bit scratchy, yet accessible.

Kinda like her pubes.

I agree with you on both points! eek

But how do we know for sure that TBGO wasn't planned to be the lead single? I do think it's not in finished form...if the rumors are true then Stuart will be working it over. I'm waiting to hear the results of that.

There has been no promo or official release. Britney's Gimme More is an official single because they are already promoting it at radio.

It sounds like what she is doing is:

1. Testing her new material through "leaks" of tracks that are not going to be released anyway.
2. Lowering expectations for the actual single, which will be peformed at the VMA's.

hmmm So Madge IS performing at the VMA's? I thought that was denied...maybe they're just trying to keep it a secret?!

I'm sure you're right about the testing. Stuart went through that routine with material for COADF and that worked out well, so why not do it again! wink
