Well her voice sounds very strained here which is nothing new where Alicia is concerned, but in this clip it sounds even more strained than usual. I would like to hear the whole thing though before I can say whether I really like this song or not, but I'm not impressed with what i've heard so far.

hmm, first impression, i don't like it. What's up with the fake synthesizers??? Where's her piano? Where's the real music at? I see she's looking kind wild, is she changing her image again? Jeez why can't these artists grow in their careers by doing something different without changing the type of music they are true in nature in?

I think too many people be in Alicia's ear. Everyone talked about how overrated she was with her first album, including me, and now as I look back, the first album is where she showed the most promise and potential. I don't like this snippet because it doesn't sound like her. It sounds like a song anyone can sing, and Alicia is so popular because she has a certain musical style imo, that isn't evident here.

yea it sounds just ok. sometimes i like the strain cuz it sounds soulful but not in this instance. i was hoping for better but yea its hard to say on this short snippet. i LOOOOOVED that "sweet music" song that leaked awhile back. i was hoping for something as good as that.

The song is good. HOWEVER, it contains the same chord progressions as "Don't Matter" from Akon.

i wasn't one of those people who thought she was overrated when she came out with her first album...actually i think that's her BEST album. The second was strong, but that first one will always be a classic.

but this song her doesn't sound like her style. it sounds like shit actually. hopefully this is just a case of "one shitty song" off an album of great songs. There's still hope.

Okay, I just heard the song in full and for those that like Alicia, there are no worries. She delivers and the song makes me very proud. I can't wait for everyone to hear the full version because that clip does it no justice.

I haven't heard it yet. I always liked her music, but thought she was overrated when she was winning all those awards, just for sitting behind a piano. I liked her first album though, it flowed well, even though it was nothing more than safe r&b music with a bit of an old school vibe and cliche lyrics and hooks. I thought aaliyah had a more creative album than her that year, and that india arie was the one who went outside the box with her sound and music and deserved nods at the grammys

when her second album came out, I loved that one, though it took a long time to grow on me. Her piano playing sounded better, her songs more soulful, her voice more confident. I can't hear this new single right now, but when I do, I'll post feedback.
