I forgot who the other guest star was....I would look it up but I'm at home on this slow ass computer. . The Mary Jane Girls Vain Thanks. Apparently, the episode will be from early 1985 and The Mary Jane Girls will be performing "In My House" (which was fairly new) and Sheena Easton will be performing "Sugar Walls" (which had become old in my area). Back in those days, we didn't drag songs out for years like they do now. In a few months, a song started getting less airplay and went out of style. In a few more months, we were looking for a new album by the artist. I can imagine it being kind of hard for Don to choose songs for the show since it was airing nationwide. Every area of the country varied as to when people got tired of particular songs because DJs had more freedom back then to play the needs of the area. It was a totally different ballgame back then. People seem to think that California is such a leader in trend setters. However, I can tell you, they looked to me to be the ones dragging things out longer than anyone else. For instance, here in Mississippi, in the late 80s, the geri curl was gradually leaving and the fade was taking over. If people still had a curl, it was strictly on top and the rest was shaved like a fade. Then here comes NWA with Ice Cube and Eazy E. with stringy curls all over their head and it was damn near 1990. They looked like something country from the backwoods of Bolton, Mississippi. Andy is a four letter word. | |
