Nuno Bettencourt Fans?

Some guitar enthusiasts may know who he is. Or maybe you know him from the group Extreme. What do you think of him as a guitar player?

I think he is a great guiter player. I think his playing is influenced by Eddie Van Halen and Brian May.

Nuno is the man - "Decadence Dance" is one of my favorite guitar-oriented songs. I have all their stuff, including some of his post-Extreme recordings. My favorite, though, is definitely "Pornograffiti". I think that album, along with "Operation MIndCrime" by Queensryche, is one of the best concept albums to come out of that era. Nuno not only has great guitar chops but great production and arranging ideas. He arranged the horns on "Get the Funk Out" and overall, helped to counterbalance Gary Cherone's over-the-top/broadway theatrics.

I was just watching an interview with him over at the guitar world website. Very informative stuff for any one aspiring to a career in the music business. Here it is: http://www.guitarworld.co..._interview

Hey all,

Nuno is fantastic. I respect his decision to concentrate on more song oriented material over the past few yrs. I have heard Extreme is getting back together which I think is great. 3 sides for me is one of the most underated albums.

Nuno has chops galore, but what does it for me is how tasty he is. He plays the right things for the melody.

Brilliant!

Nuno's a great player and musician. His solo joint "Skitzophonic" (was that the name of it?) was pretty cool. I know he's a huge P fan.

..but he's got a weak ass handshake. It's like a wet fish but I won't hold that against him.

Totally agree, i think 3 sides is one of the best albums of the decade overall. the bad as a whole was always underrated which is what happens when you have a Ballad hit and you are a more diverse band than that. Extreme is one of the few bands that really understood what QUEEN was about.

I met him back in 89 when my one of my old bands opened for him. Got to watch him play during his soundcheck. Met him a few times after that. Cool guy and no signs of any ego (at least back in 89).

3 Sides is a great album, as is Waiting for the Punchline. Have you seen the Queen tribute show? They were the best performance I think. Well them and George Michael.
