So if I support Amy Winehouse by buying her album aren't I really supporting her drug and booze habit as well??? hmmm

Yep. Any money received will be used by her and her man. I am NOT buying her music coz I don't want to support their drug habits.

i've read that winehouse's father in law is calling for a boycott for this very reason. i think he's a creep.

couldn't money she'd get from her music also support her recovery?

if this is the criteria you all use to select music, i'm guessing most of you would have to trash about a good 78% of your music collections.

sorry, but this is the most jacked-up idea i've heard in a long time.

OKAY, FOUND ONE! And as I remembered it, he wants fans to boycott the record to put the label under pressure to be proactive in getting the couple into recovery. Apparently so far the exaustion announcements, exclusive hotel stays & rehab stints have been p.r. moves by her record label to, in his words "get them out of the way"

Click on the audio speaker icon to the right of the photo to hear the full interview.

I swear to gawd I hate "suits" disbelief

He mentions that they as parents can't get through to them and he believes death could occur within the next 12-24 months. And that if one dies, the other will follow by suicide. Makes me wonder what lengths I would go to as a parent to help my kid kick... neutral

wow i didn't know it was being boycotted let alone led by her father. i agree it doesn't make sense seeing how the money can be used for rehab. sounds counter productive to me. whether she has money or not a drug addict will find a way to get high-i see that shit every day lol the only thing her dad can do is step in on a personal level. she's an adult and its up to her to genuinely want to stop.

the boycott is requested by her father-IN-LAW. her dad is the one who tracks them down every time they take off and hide out then runs after them to try to convince her to come home.

although the dads each have different approaches, i can understand both of them somehow.

the only thing that sounded a little shaky-bakey to me in the radio interview from the fielder-civil's side is when they embellished their son's occupation, and then i wondered why in the HELL would they leave their younger children to be minded by amy and blake knowing they're addicts? leap of faith and abuse of trust my ass, that was just naive and damned near retarded on their behalf whofarted

There's a difference between pointing out that a star (or anybody else) needs to get help and the "hey, look at the junkie freak!" mentality surrounding Winehouse. It just rubs me the wrong way.

understood but considering that she is a junky and considering her job everybody is going to have something to say-its unavoidable. i think getting teased is the least of her problems and i doubt she cares or notices seeing how people with drug problems just want to get high despite what is said. it all comes with the territory.

Well it seems to me she's getting more than her fair share of shti hurled at her -especially considering the number of other celebrities who are celebrated for their drug use.
