I hope she does, too but for them to come out and say the tour was cancelled due to exhaustion is just stupid.

i'm sure they have to do that for legal reasons or whatnot. i think it's standard procedure in the biz. i mean, have you ever - EVER - heard anyone say "so-and-so cancelled their tour because they're a big junkie mess"? it's just not done. shrug

...not to mention her work permit and visa for the united states can be revoked as a result, and she would be barred from entering the country period, let alone allowed to tour here...neutral. really a damn shame...

Well from looking at the pics, He seems to have gotten more battle wounds. Still not cool, I like Amy and all the "drunk rebel" spin she has going on, but yeah this is just sad.

K-U-R-T!

Kurt and Courtney had a better marriage than the media would have you believe.

Yep, it was apparently so nurturing and idyllic it inspired him to blow his brains out.

Anyhoo, pardon the typo, dear. wink

Typical response. Kurt didn't kill himself because of Courtney. Was it a perfect marriage? Nah, not by any means, but they loved each other. Kurt was a tortured genius, and he killed himself because of a whole multitude of reasons, and of all them I personally think that the state of his marriage was the least relevant.

Well, if girl's are looking for role models becuase they are sick of Lindsay, Britney and Paris, this is not the right direction. She might be more fucked up than all of them combined, but at least nobody is getting hurt (well, except for her and her husband).

lindsay, britney and paris come off as spoiled brats who think they're entitled to behave any old way they like without any kind of repercussion. amy seems like she just doesn't know what the hell she's doing.

This poor child does not need to even THINK about trying to tour in the U.S., let alone her native U.K. right now. She needs to let all of her obligations go at this time and take a few years off to get herself cleaned up! She should also dump that co-dependant, enableing husband of hers too and she might have a fighting chance!....Just Sad!

It's a shame that people forget about Kurt's health problems and that some of his usage of drugs was because of those health problems. An Example was an undiagnosed chronic stomach condition that he had . He also had scoliosis as a kid and I think chronic bronchites or something like that.

Kurt Cobain was a very down to earth guy...I remember someone saying that he drove his car like an old lady (The car was a Volvo or something like that...)

i wish i could laugh with you, sass, but i can't.

i just don't think there's anything funny about having the demon smack running through your veins.

heroin usage is much more common in the eu than the usa, so i have to walk past people who are dying from smack, literally and figuratively everyday.

and insofar as the celebrity panache of it all, i was around in the highest levels of the fashion industry when that heroin chic crap was fashionable in the 90's; for the poor kids that actually fell into that nightmare it was not chic at all. what i watched before my very eyes working for some of the worlds top international fashion magazines was horrifying. it's no fun going to work and trying to calm a girl that breaks into convulsions and scratches herself raw and scabby till shes bleeding all over an allessandro dell'acqua neutral

hey, i'm 30 years old and been around the block a few times. i don't need a lesson on drug addiction. trust that. i also don't need to take amy winehouse's problems so seriously. the girl is tragic, but her husband is sorta hot...smack or no smack.

I can understand what you are saying bout the models and such but with Amy the PR department has sold her as a hard rocking edgy rebel who doesn't give a fuck bout "the hype" and such, all this messiness thats been going on for the last what 4 months??!! just confirms how the media(label) is working the act, just to sell some more cds.

I dunno but i think that if Amy really needed "rehab" she would seek it out and be quiet bout it. Well unless shes a fool.

well lovely and lucky for you that you were/are strong enough to stay above the fray during your trips around the block, as it were. and for the record i wasn't trying to give you any lessons on drug addiction, papichulo, i was expressing a differing opinion. nothing more nothing less. in reference to taking amy winehouse's problems so seriously, again, great for you. but for me i don't see this thread simply as a celeb gossip tidbit, rather than a chance to have interesting conversations about the rimbaudian derangement of the senses, creative ingenuity vs. inner demons, or issues like eating disorders, drug addiction, self-mutilation, and so on...

...and good grief, if you think her husband is hot then why don'tcha lemme hook you up with some twinky male model in skinny jeans and porkpie hat, minus rotten teeth and track marks:hmm:? probably a lot less drama to deal with, no? not to mention SAFER in both theory and practice wink !

Agreed on (mostly) all counts. As is often the case with a lot of artists, the handlers immediately surrounding them are much more concerned with "the bottom line" than their personal welfare. It's amazing how a person can actually be surrounded by people and everyone plays the "ignore the big white elephant in the room" game. I recently experienced this with a singer friend after a televised show. A band member has been struggling with some issues to the point of becoming self destructive recently, but now it's beginning to spill over into the work as well. It seems that I was the only person who actually had enough balls to say very discreetly "okay look, he's REALLY fucked up...how can everyone just stand around laughing and chit chatting and drinking champagne, like you guys aren't even SEEING this?" It was bananas, but sadly and unfortunately is the nature of the beast...

So far as rehabilitation, that's pretty much how addicts are until they hit rock bottom, fools in complete denial of what's going on around them...
