INXS / Original Sin (1984) [produced by Nile Rodgers]

::: I'll flesh this out, but so far I just got The Swing, so I'm listening to that.

Let's talk INXS. What are your favorite albums? Singles? Etc. Chat about what you like...

INXS / Original Sin (1984) [produced by Nile Rodgers]
(a farriss & m hutchence)

You might know of the original sin
And you might know how to play with fire
But did you know of the murder committed
In the name of love-yeah
You thought what a pity
Dream on white boy
Dream on black girl
And wake up to a brand new day
To find your dreams have washed away

There was a time when I did not care
And there was a time when the facts did stare
There is a dream and its held by many
Well Im sure you had to see
Its open arms

Dream on white boy
Dream on black girl
And wake up to a brand new day

Dream on black boy
Dream on white girl
Then wake up to a brand new day

Their early albums were the best! Anyone who doesn't believe that they were a New Wave band obviously never heard their early stuff.

One thing I would like to add is that from 1980 to 1986, Niles Rodgers produced some classic albums (Let's Dance, Notorious, Like a virgin, diana...). He had that touch.

I just got a few of these albums so I'm casually playing throughout the afternoon. Their material pre-KICK is really rich I'm discovering.

The guy is definitely prolific. His productions during the early 80s range from classics like you mentioned to obscure/cult like Debbie Harry's Koo Koo. I'm unearthing everything one by one.

'Burn For You' is an amazing song and I would say their greatest, and so Australian. And it still sounds fresh 23 years later. I wish there was still music being made like this.

Nile Rodgers recorded Original Sin and most of The Swing in New York City in 1983.

"Melting in the Sun" is actually my favorite track from "The Swing". nod It pretty much summed up the direction they were heading in their next few albums.
