LUCINDA WILLIAMS thread! There are no words to describe this incredible artist...but I did want to express my love for Lucinda!
A great storyteller she is...songs like 'Cresent City' and 'Lake Charles' have touched me like nothing else... Are there any other fans out there??? Post your fav. Lucinda story...she may not have released many records but what's been released is worth checking out! 'Car Wheels On a Gravel Road' will go down as one of the greatest albums ever made...songs like 'Drunken Angel' and 'Right On Time' have the ability to touch many senses... Her self titled 1988 album inspired a whole generation of female country singers (Mary Chapin-Carpenter, Patty Loveless, Matraca Berg)...Mary Chapin had a huge hit with 'Passionate Kisses'...Patty covered 'Nights Too Long'... 'Ramblin' showcased her ability to cover great blues songs by the likes of Robert Johnson... 'Essence' was ballad heavy yet beautiful...'Blue' and 'Reason To Cry' broke my heart and the title track turned me ON! LOL... I could go on and on and on...what about U??? Every minute of last night is on my face today.... | |

Maybe I am wrong, but is she the chick from Mo' Better Blues? If so, she did have a great song with "Harlem Blues"! If that is not her, my bad! LOL | |

... Anyway, I dig her, what little I've heard. I've yet to buy anything by her but I plan to. This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes. | |
