However, I've love Whitney best when she covered other people's songs. Before it got over-played I prefered her version of I Will Always Love You to Dolly Parton version. But my favourite song from her by a distance is For The Love of You originally done by the Isley Brothers. She did that song a lot of
justice. I was around 16 when that album came out"Whitney" and this was the first version of that song I ever heard. It's not my favorite of hers(You Give Good Love), but it definitely sounds much better that the Isley Brothers original. It is my favorite version of a beautiful song. Gotta disagree there

Vocally no popular singer-- Mariah, Christina, or Celine-- could match her. She was also fine (somewhat besides the point) but I guess that would be what would separate her from the likes of Stephanie Mills who could sing her ass off.
I always thought there was a time and place for her ballads which are what she does best. Her newer attempts at R&B don't do anything for me. Unlike many of you I don't blame Bobby Brown for her "downfall". Last time I checked they were both adults when they hooked up. His career took a huge hit too when they got together.

I like the more soulful Whitney singing "I'm your baby tonight" and "It's not right, but it's okay" than the boring pop balledeer Whitney singing "Run to You".
