The legendary legs in show business. love cool

I loved Tina's role in that film as brief as it was, it was powerful. nod

But of course it would, that's "Hurricane Tina". razz

Which Madonna cover copied this though? Is it a COADF-era picture? hmmm

Madonna had a photoshoot during that era with the exact same look as Tina...It was also used as a backdrop on the CT

something like this:

I am not suprised, she steals everyone that has a good image.
I cant think when she has been orignal, shes always used the
image of others to promote herself. Rember when the son of
Guy Bourdin sued her for the Hollywood vid.

Heres the real pics with Madonnas and also more on what she stole,
including images from Kylie. sad

You took the words right out of my mouth biggrin
I continue to admire Madonna for her sheer lack of everything, with an exception of a hard working ethic and having an ear for a good tune. To get so far with so little talent is amazing. I mean even Diana, who actually has talent, never came this far,

Yeah shes got a good work ethic and a good ear for producers that arnt well known
as to say Dr Dre or Trevor Horn, so she can get credit for it.

Madonna is a postmodern visual artist.

Postmodern is taking what is old and making new again.

to most people they don't where that image comes from.

when i first saw the promo for the COADF i didn't know the video was from Acid Queen til someone pointed out to me, however I knew it was probably taken from somewhere. Everything from COADF comes from Tommy right down to the Tour.

Thats just making up excuses for her and her lazyness to
create something new and exiting. Instead of sealing from
the dead and forgotten she should go to art school for a
good few years and lean to sing while at it, then come back.

Why do something thats been gone!

rolleyes No offense, but if you don't like Madonna and if you think she's a thief, why don't you just simply ignore her? Why do you care what she does, anyway? I can't stand Kid Rock,so you won't see me on a Kid Rock thread, bitching about how much he sucks wink

I don't dislike her but people work hard to create
an image and she shouldnt steal. Shes getting so
much credit for her image which aint really hers,
which I think is absurd.

Iam an artist so maybe iam over doing it, but if
someone stole my idea I would go mad. lol

In the world of pop music, though, everything has been done before.Even many of Prince's outfits in the 80s were clearly inspired by Jimi Hendrix and Sly Stone....some of Michael's 80s outfits were clearly inspired by Sgt.Peppers.It's not always "stealing",but rather, paying tribute.

This is what Madge probably intends to do, but to be all academic and such, this isn't an accurate definition of post-modernism. Post-modernism is a contemporary phenomenon and theory of cultural material being recycled again and again by a culture where nothing new is possible. The recycling is so heavy that icons, images, sounds actually separate from their original reference points and any connection to meaning, irony, parody, commentary is moot. It's the opposite of avant-garde which believes that there is a cutting edge, that new efforts are possible, and that new meaning can be created by new forms. Madonna represents a constant cycling, a glut of material, which, by pure repetition, frequency, and volume reduces all signs and signification to surface.

Not that that's a bad thing. cool
