Paris Hilton singing career

Last year Paris Hilton released an album. It was said to be really good. Ironically her first song Stars Are Blind never cracked Billboard and was never heard again after a week.

The funny thing is it was fairly good. I mean Paris Hilton as a person might not be great but I can't see howcome her record never tookoff. I mean compared to other people she and K-Fed don't have that bad of music.

Why Paris is thought of as a stuckup rich girl with no idea of outside life. That's why alotof people don't like her.

I'm ashamed to say I kinda liked her song Stars Are Blind. It was catchy.
Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U.

It's no different than those albums by Leonard Nimoy and Jack Webb in the 60s. A cheap attempt to cash in on a famous name.

The song was OK? Well sure. She used the same people who write & produce all the other songs you hear on the radio today. They're highly competent professionals. Even if the vocal performance is barely passable, it can be fixed in a computer. Since she's famous for something other than singing, you're likely to go "Hmmm, well I guess she's not that bad of a singer" and be actually impressed.

She probably sold more records to people that hate her than I ever will to the people who enjoy my music.

But that's still a big difference from a performer who can actually inhabit the song & move you from point A to point B. That's a quality gone sadly missing in modern music, IMO.

True, it is the same as when Don Johnson,Scott Baio,Eddie murphy or countless others put out records at their height of fame. The scary thing is that most of Paris's album sounded like Gwen Stefani's solo stuff, which shows more of the emptiness in music and how easy it is to create it.

lol I'd loooove to see Paris totally without money and a camera following her. The Simple Life was way too staged and you know they had money, otherwise they would have died. I can't see Paris having to really get her hands dirty to make a real living, which is sad because everybody, no matter how rich they are, should see what many working-class individuals have to go through everyday just to survive. I think that jailtime made her appreciate the fact that she was the fastest swimmer and the lucky sperm to hit that egg first just a little bit more. Oh, yeah, and her 'singing career' falloff If she wasn't paying all those top-notch producers and songwriters to make the album (not to mention the fact that she had to start her own record label to release it on, because no big record company is that stupid), she wouldn't be singing at all. Man, having shit loads of money can sure be nice at times.

Hate to bust up the hate-a-thon, but "Stars are Blind" made it to #14 on the Billboard Pop charts. The follow-up "Nothing in this World" was a great song and also charted in the Hot 100. The album debuted in the top 10 and, if Wikipedia is to be believed, sold 2.5 million copies worldwide...and she didn't have to give it away in a newspaper to achieve those numbers. Boo-yah!

Don't think that just because she's popular "today" and was able to capitalize on her family name that this is some sort of sucess story. The girl is famous for being famous. She had some highly skilled produers in the studio with her to keep her from sounding worse than she did. I can't believe you are even attempting to compare her 'so-called" career to Prince just because he decided to take another route in promoting his album. Let's see where your girl Paris is "career" wise in 30 plus years from now like Prince...Hell, let's see where she is in just 5 years! ...Boo-Nah! disbelief

That would've been a great accomplishment for her had she not had the money to hire the top producers in the industry. I'm quite sure that her singing voice was altered in the studio to make her sound better on record. All Paris did was buy herself a hit record. She has NO musical talent whatsoever.

spit You're being totally serious, aren't you? falloff She probably sold the bulk of those 2.5 million albums (which I don't believe, but okay?) to all the people in Japan. For some strange reason, they love her over there. Seriously, the only people who most likely bought K-Fed's album were some of Britney's idiot fans who would buy anything that was attached to their beloved Spears (shit, they bought the girl's half-eaten corndog off of Ebay for christsake disbelief ) Shoot, even one-hit wonders can make it into the Top 5, so those really aren't even bragging rights right there. I've heard Paris sing without studio help on "The Girls' Next Door", when she sang "Happy Birthday" to Hugh Hefner and yeah, her album was totally studioed, because that 'tribute' to Hef was pretty awful. It's nice that you like her though, even though she probably wouldn't help you up if you fell down in front of her. Aww, the love of a fan is truly priceless and sad all at the same time. touched
