How long will this Rap Shit continue????????

I'm tired of this Shit music. What's up with SoulJa Boy and Hurricane Chris? Do people really like this shit? I mean do people that have at least a high school education listen to this? Or is this shit for those Ignorant MF'ers that can't read, write, or form a complete sentence.

There has to be a turning point where rap goes back to it's roots. Remember when rap music was fresh and creative?

Hey Bay Bay! This shit just breeds ignorance!!!!!

As long as it cheap as hell to make and continues to make record labels, radio monopolies, and old white men profits. Also, as long as there are tasteless rhythmless idiots that are still fool enough to buy it.

Im going to go out on a limb, but im going to BLAME the digital media for the "dumbing" down of music. Think about, a really big % of the music in "mainstream" and thats promoted is basically geared towards kids, but its geared towards things like cell phones and ringtones. Also a good reason why Labels are losing money now is that they "banked" on these things, the one hit rap-wonders to sell their ringtones, but the thing is none of its making anything. Its funny but if you take away the handful of rappers who do make $$ (jay,50,Ti) you are left with many who dont. Another thing people dont realize is on a Rap video, that 99% of Rappers dont own any of that stuff in the video, the cars, the jewels etc.. Its all rented out by the labels, and the girls, well, depending on who you can get, none of them work for free, and the top ones command 10-50,000. So just do the math on all that stuff and wonder why you are getting simplistic crap.

I was just listening to some Common and Mos def the other day and Talib's new one is about to drop.

I'm ok with Hip Hop.

As far as radio hip hop, I hate it but I'm like...whatever. The soldier boy dance is cute....I crack up watchin' my kid do her thing.

She said to me one day that I needed to just let her enjoy her teenage years, the music, the clothes, etc no matter how crappy it maybe.

My mind went back to when Madonna was on American Bandstand and my mother thought she was some stupid chick bouncing around.....lol

so be it.

I should say that my kid is a college bound, smart chick who her friends call "Radio" because this child knows the lyrics to everything from Ike and Tina, the Temptations, new edition, keith sweat AND yes Ciara, Hurriane C and Chris Brown.

I've stopped beating up on the kids who listen to this stuff because I remember my father ripping apart every person that came on tv thinking they could play an instrument...including PRINCE (back then).

is it crappy.....yeah.....don't listen to it. There's better music out there...go buy it.

You know when Rap first came out late 70s/early 80s I didn't think it would last that long back then, and it was good back then with groups like Grandmaster Flash and De La Soul. I don't know whether the deaths of 2pac and Biggie fuel the interest of rap even more, but whatever it is the market is over-saturated. I believe a meltdown is coming.

Not true. I always loved some Egyptian Lover. Dancerella told me that The Egyptian Lover had a new album about a year or two ago. I searched every record store in Jackson. Was Egyptian Lover in there? Nooooo. lol

See....you can't even find good music even when you do "search for it". lol

Several orgers have told me about a new white funk band called Chromeo. I searched for them also. Same result. Nothing. I'm tellin' ya, something's going on because they don't want you to find anything except weak midtempo "talk over a stripped down beat" shit hop.

Never heard of them but I'll be on the lookout for them. I just hope they don't end up on the same list with The Egyptian Lover and Chromeo....good new music that I have "searched for" with no luck. lol

I would have to say that Common, mos def, and Talib is exempt from this discussion because they are real talent.

The funny thing is that my Grandfather loved rap during the 80's and 90's. He says he can't stand this new stuff. He says alot of the early rap had a lot of funk and jazz influences. His is a huge jazz fan. He said these kids ain't talking about nothing.

As far as finding other music out there, there really isn't much else out there. music labels have killed the true R&B star. There aren't many true R&B singers out there besides anthony hamilton, jill scott, musiq, donell jones, raheeem Devaughn, mint condition, and a few others.

As far as rap music there are only a few worth listening to. I really wish A Tribe Called Quest would get back together! That's real rap/ hip hop music!
