That was when Prince was kinda not doing so well with his music. I wasn't feeling his latest stuff as I was with his classics. Thank goodness I still had "1999" on cassette.
That was also when I discovered Punk Rock (in the late 90's ). So the Clash was my biggest inspiration.
But I was mostly into New Wave and 80's music in general. I hated most of what was on the radio at that time (Boy bands, Nu Metal, Shit Hop, etc.), so I found solace in groups like Human League, ABC, Spandau Ballet, Talking Heads, The B-52's, Adam Ant, Bow Wow Wow, Elvis Costello, The Pretenders, and the list goes on and on. Love this track. Sorry, did not realise this was something else than another 'what are you lsitening to'-thread. But, weird enough, that Prince track was one of the track I listened to alot, although I was at 16 in the middle of my SOTT period and most everything that came before. There was also some Madhouse, Cameo, Eurythmics, U2. |

Prince mainly. I was 16 in 1990, Nude Tour was my first ever concert. Though I remember being rabid with excitement over "Graffiti Bridge" and then being almost heartbroken that it was so patchy and uninsprired
