Remember the first 6 months after there deaths. There was always the discussion of who was the greatest of all time. People always listed these 2Pac and Biggie as number one and number two. What a Joke! Now way can either one of these be the best of all time. Their careers were both too short. Besides what did either one really contribute. 2Pac had the All Eyes on Me, Me against the world CD's, and the single I get around, and a couple of other ok joints. Biggie had his first CD and the single hypnotize me. Biggie's second cd was terrible. Makaveli was also terrible.

Between the two, 2pac was better hands down. But neither one could even be consider the greatest of all time. At least 2 Pac left behind some good poetry and some enlightning interviews, but other that that what were they really saying in their music. 2pac had brenda had a baby and dear mama. Other than that he had good party songs but nothing meaningful to make him the Greatest of All Time.

Biggie music isn't much different than today's music. All about bitches, ho's, drugs, and alluding the police.

I would have to put Common, Chuck D, Rakim, LL, Dela Soul, Tribe called Quest, and the Roots, at the top. People would might laugh at LL but at least he had some longevity and some nice music. I also think Chuck D was under rated as well. He had a strong voice and he alway had a message. I would put Snoop up for honorable mention because of his smooth delivery and style. But there isn't much to say for Snoop's content either.

I don't know what it is but every New Yorker you talk to always claims Biggie as the greatest. I think not.

I remember Snoop getting a little emotional(you could see the anger in his face) when he said he gets pissed when he sees people doing duets or remixes with Pac's vocals knowing damn well, he wouldn't have worked with them if he was alive(Wyclef in particular)

You ask a New Yorker who's the G.O.A.T, you'll hear Biggie, come to the California, more specifically the Bay Area, you'll hear Tupac with "Fuck Biggie" at the end

Tupac is a favorite but yeah, I wouldn't say he was one of the greatest. Maybe one of the most popular, esp. after his death. Biggie, like Pac, was big for his time but unfortunately their image, lifestyle and death will be remembered more than their skills.

You right: Biggie and 'Pac were far from "the greatest of all time".

'Pac was a great poet/actor and Big was a great lyricist for the brief times they were alive but...

...now those guys (and gals) could be debated as the best... Pac and Big? You must be smoking crack considering their life span was only 25, 26 years old and their career wasn't as long as six years and Pac for the most part became famous (or infamous) for his antics more than his music while he and Big embroiled in some stupid rivalry.

I agree. It was cause they died so young, they died in their prime so people giving them this.. like perfect image. It happens all the time with artist who die young. What if Michael Jackson died in the late 80's? Imagin' how different the perception of him would be today!!

i totally agree Pac does deserve that kind of "talk" but Biggie doesnt IMO, like it was said he was very one-dimensional with his rapping and lyrics. But i do agree that others like Kool, LL, Run Flash and others need to be mentioned long before pac, its like talking about how great the Doors are and never mentioning the Beatles
