See above. Zapp III included Dance Floor. Sorry, but "Dance Floor" was on "Zapp II" along with "Doo Wah Ditty". Andy is a four letter word.

Though they rarely deviated from their classic vocoder/synthesizer funk (occasionally they had some blues-inspired songs like "Be Alright") and it got tiring by the latter 1980s, Zapp generally delivered the goods. Very true. The same goes for the other funk groups during the late 1980s such as Cameo, The Gap Band, Midnight Star, The Barkays, etc. They all continued funk during the late 1980s but the funk was much weaker. I think they were all hoping to get a pop following during the late 1980s. I wonder which female artist might have put that idea into their head? Andy is a four letter word.

I like Computer love, but it is way overplayed. Both songs are extremely overplayed in my area. The reason is, the one sorry ass R&B station that we have that plays a lot of old songs, has a damn "soft soul" format so both of those songs are slow enough to fit in with their format. During the week, that station is absolutely horrible playing slow shit mostly from the late 80s (I only like 70s and early 80s slow stuff) the 90s (hell fucking naw), and today (even worse). Saturday afternoons are a different story though. They have one particular DJ that throws down mostly the hard uptempo funk from the 70s and early 80s, along with a few slow jams from that period. A song being overplayed definately has something to do with the area that you are from and the type of stations you have. Unfortunately, "soft soul" seems to have caught on nationwide. . . The full line-up in order of appearance was Goodie, Grand Master Flash and the Furious 5, Roger/Zapp and finally The Gap Band. I managed to get all the way up front right in front of Roger's keyboard/boogie tube. They were absolutely great! You could feel the heat and energy coming off the stage! And they sounded great. What made them seem even better was the act right before them was Grand Master Flash and the Furious 5 who rapped to a record, NO BAND. The first time I had ever seen that at a "live" concert....and they actually did "Scorpio" (for those of you who don't know is basically an all instrumental track). All of you that love Zap, check out this guy Geoff's Zap inspired funk. The band is called Bumper. His sig has the link and all of his music has that same electro funk vibe that I never get sick of. Check it!

They had a great jam out in the summer of 1982 called "Do Something". Whenever I bring their name up, no one seems to remember them. Andy is a four letter word.

Was goodie a group or solo act???? "Always blessings, never losses......"

I remember because I bought the 45 back in 1982 and still have all my old vinyl. I saw Goodie on "Soul Train" and I think it's a guy rather than a group. That's been a lot of years so I can't remember. I do know that they were on the Total Experience record label which was started by The Gap Band during that era. I think The Gap Band may have produced Goodie because it definately has a "Gap Band Sound" to it. Andy is a four letter word.

As for I Wanna Be Your Man, I think this was Roger's first and only crossover hit as a solo artist (peaked at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles [USA] Chart).
