Since you posted the greatest hits CD cover, I love that ass shakin' megamix at the end. I also bought the maxi cassette version of the megamix which has another megamix on side 2.

Zapp and Roger had some good stuff...they also had some bad stuff.
I wouldn't consider some of their albums to be "great" or "good", but each of them contain some good work. The weakest of all (to me) is Zapp V (with the remake of Ooo Baby Baby. That album is BAD! I also consider Zapp IV bad (even though it does contain Computer Love).

If you just want a single greatest hits compilation, I recommend:


This cd contains all of their greatest hits that everyone knows. It is good from start to finish and also has a Mega-Mix (that actually is good).

If you want to try some of their albums, My favorites are:


These are some of my favorite electro-funk albums of all time.

If you want a true comprehensive greatest hits package, I recommend:

This package has a little of everything. It has some of their early stuff (before they became "Zapp") in addition to ALL of their big hits.

My next door neighbor was blasting Zapp & Roger. "Be Alright" is a personal favorite. My grandma had died some years ago and my cousins were "cheering me up" with this song. Silly as it sounds and they're some silly mofo's anyways, that's the memory that comes to mind whenever I hear that song.

Do not bother to see them live. They are a total sham.
I'm amazed they can even tour under that name. UGH!

That's true. They had some great stuff on their albums but they also had some songs that I didn't like.

As for "Zapp IV" and "Zapp V", I had stopped buying their albums by that time and strictly bought their 45s that I liked. Roger's "The Saga Continues" was the last full album of their's that I bought because I wasn't impressed with the lead singles for IV and V. In the early 1990s, I bought Roger's "Bridging The Gap" album because, by that time, singles were hard to find. Also, in the 1990s I was absolutely desperate for some funk.



Yeah, I got all those as well as Roger's "The Saga Continues".

how can u not love "I Wanna Be Your Man"? And "Computer Love"? Whew...those are some of the best songs ever by anyone.

Yeah, there was a "Zapp III" album. It included the songs "I Can Make You Dance", "Heartbreaker", "Spend My Whole Life", and "Play Some Blues".
