NINE INCH NAILS Album Headed For Television?

From: http://www.roadrunnerreco...emID=78735

The Pulse of Radio (formerly Launch Radio Networks) reports: The latest NINE INCH NAILS album, "Year Zero", might be turned into a television series. Frontman and creative mastermind Trent Reznor told a U.K. newspaper that plans are underway to bring the concept disc to the airwaves, saying, "We've got a producer on board and have met with writers. We're about to pitch it to the network, so we're a couple of weeks away from meeting all of the main people, and we'll see what happens."

"Year Zero" is set in a totalitarian future America ruled by a right-wing religious dictatorship. The populace is plagued by mysterious visions, the country's drinking water might be drugged and global catastrophe is near.

Reznor said earlier in the year that he was interested in bringing the story to the screen, possibly as a movie.

The album was released this past spring after an innovative viral marketing campaign that left clues for fans online and in venues where the band had played.

NINE INCH NAILS has yet to mount a full North American tour in support of "Year Zero", although the group's web site recently added a September 18 show in Honolulu, Hawaii to its summer itinerary, which is filled through August and the first half of September with shows in Europe, the U.K., China, Israel and Southeast Asia. NIN plays on Wednesday (August 15) in Switzerland.

So what do you guys think? Bad idea or good idea? Would you watch it?
In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular.

i would watch

probably won't get a lot of replies since the majority of the threads here on the org nowadays are about R&B music

no offense but you think it would be a bit more diverse on a prince fansite

I would totally watch the show! I thought the marketing campaign was great - and love the CD. Contains socio-politcal overtones... very cool.

I agree but either way its gonna be awesome.....OMG I soooo hope this happens. Year Zero is my favorite album of 2007.

Imagine if it was a 15-part series and each episode related to each track on the album?? (everything except the intro which could be the promotional trailer/advert)

Like the first episode would be "The Beginning Of The End", the second "Survivalism" and so on..... man that would rock

when is yearzeroremixed coming out? havent checked ETS for a while.

I think if it is a show, it'll be more like the fake message boards then the actual songs. A movie would be cool, but I think a tv show has the potential to go on for a while, expanding out from Trent's original ideas.

It might be stargate- ish, but shrug people like stargate.

I think it'd be a pretty cool show/movie. Reznor is definitely pretty good with the quality control and because he can do pretty much whatever he wants, it'd be pretty interesting. I hope it happens!

As long as NIN stays raw and uncut then, I am all for it.

In that case I'm afraid you are late by some twenty years.
