Clips from Evelyn "Champagne" King`s new album, "Open book"

http://www.cduniverse.com...n+Book.htm

I can`t wait to get this one, it`s good to see her back...

Here`s what she has to say about her return to the studio; "It is important to me to keep it real. Unlike many singers today, I am not a studio creation who can not pull it off live in the studio."

I listened to the song samples and...it's not as bad as I thought it would be lol Usually, when an Old School artist makes a new album, they jump on the hip-hop bandwagon, trying to appeal to the youngsters of today. But this album sounds decent,I may have to pick it up.

nod Is that CD available anywhere?! I gotta find a copy!

It frustrates me that so many classic disco albums are not available on CD.

I know what you mean, with all the stuff that gets re-released, there should be room for some classic disco albums.

I think i paid about $30 for my copy of "Smooth talk", but i see it goes for up to $100

But all the tracks except "Nobody knows" is on the 3 disc collection "Legends"

The "Experience" album is released on cd, but it`s out of print.

It's called the "Clean Up Woman" medley and it's like 18 minutes long! She does a little bit of "You Got The Love" (Rufus and Chaka Khan),"Midnight At The Oasis" (Maria Muldaur) and other songs that were popular at the time. You gotta hear it!

The only downside is....many folks swear that this album isn't really "live" at all. There's a rumor that she and her band recorded it in a studio, then added the sounds of the audience afterwards neutral

Oh God, "Midnight at the oasis"!!! worship This i have to hear!!!

I think Maria Muldaur`s version is a little boring, so i hope Wright managed to give a little life to this beautiful song...

How can a thread about Evelyn "Champagne" King NOT mention the classic jams?

"I'm in Love"
"Shame"
"Love Come Down"

'nuff said.

I can't hear the samples of the new stuff 4 some reason, but I've been diggin' out the JAMS.
