Time For Some Hip-Hop Trivia(Sample Edition)

ok.this is for all you hip-hop purists and aficionados

i'm not gonna put down the soul searchers 'cause that's too easy(L.L. Cool J+Antoinette+Ashley's Roachclip=Jack The Ripper & Watch The Gangstress Boogie)

Question 1:

The Geto Boys had a single called "My Mind Playin' Tricks On Me"
name the song (and the artist) from which the sample was lifted.

Question 2(same as 1):

The Group Crucial Conflict has a track called "To The Left" on one of their c.d's.name the song (and the artist) from which they used the sample.

now i will come back and visit this thread tomorrow with a hint if you're still stumped.

a little audio food for thought. cool

The Geto Boys sampled Hung Up On My Baby by Isaac Hayes. I was a huge Hayes fan back in the day. One of my favorite songs was "Good Love" (six-nine nine six-nine)razz

Now as for Crucial Conflict..Ride the Rodeo is still my favorite. Can't help it. I just liked her afro-puffs, the Giddy-Up, and I lived in Chi-town when their '96 album dropped.

Don't know who they sampled in To the Left. confused Now, I won't rest till I find out.

What was the name of the song from which Ice Cube got the beat for "It Was a Good Day"?

Another one....comedian Eddie Murphy had a brother (NOT Charlie wink ) who got busy on the hip hop scene... They dropped a song in the early '90s.. What was the name of that group?

DING!DING!.....we got a winner here! hug.you are absoulutely correct with the first one biggrin.ok....as for the second one,keep thinking along that same line.

here's the hint:the second one isn't Isaac Hayes Nor is it James Brown(although he made a soundtrack too) but it's a musician of that same Funk calibre that made this soundtrack for another well-known 70's Blaxploitation movie. cool
