Ledisi - She's Baaaaaaaaaaaaack (Too!)! August 28th her CD, "Lost And Found" drops. She's Jazzy-Soul and she can scat her ass off! Her debut "Soul Singer" was off the hook and you probably won't find it under 25 bucks anywhere and her Jazz album "Feeling Orange But Sometimes Blue" you won't find under 100 bucks! Cool thing is, she has a duet with Rahsaan Patterson and it's damn tight! With the release of these 2 artists, all is somewhat right in the R&B world. nWo: bboy87 - Timmy84 - LittleBlueCorvette - MuthaFunka - phunkdaddy - Christopher

I caught her here in L.A. 2 years ago opening for Soulive.
Part of the show review I did then... Never heard of this woman before but i'll now never forget her. An amazing vocalist, energetic performer and a down to earth sister. I'd done some research on her prior to the show and was especially looking forward to hearing her keyboardist and production partner Sundra Manning. Curtain rises and there's no keyboards. Instead the band consisted of drums, 3 background singers (1 male & 2 females) and 2 six-string bassists. One bass player's sound alternated between rhythm & lead guitar along with an occasional Hammond B3 sound. The other player held down the traditional bass parts. ...http://prince.org/msg/8/162429 I'll have to get my ear on this new album. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all." | |
