Her adoption was absolutely pathetic and the only reason she did it was so she could get a "black" baby to match the color of her black handbag.

hmmm Is Madonna over? Let's see...

***Her last album 'Confessions On A Dancefloor' went to Number One in 29 countries (including the U.S.) and sold between 8-10 million copies worldwide.

***Her last tour 'The Confessions Tour' grossed $200 million last year, making it the most lucrative, most successful tour by a female artist.

***She won a Grammy this year for 'Confessions On A Dancefloor' (best electronic/dance album)

***She is the highest earning female artist on Forbe's list of the richest celebrities, earning much more than Mariah,Janet and the others.

I'm sure most longtime artists would love to be "over" like that wink

ok WTF? you guys may be from the US, but in the rest of the world including Canada, she's still huge, and I mean huge. I couldn't get away from hearing confessions in stores for over a year, and her tour was all anyone talked about. Everyone was feeling her.

In other words, there's no chance in hell Ms. Ciccone's career is over. She's now 25 years into her career anyways. The talk about her being over is so 1985. lol

I've heard from madonna fans that assholes were saying she was over around True Blue because it sold 1 million copies less than like a virgin in the US. People can't take it, she's still having hits and is viewed as an icon. She has a young audience thanks to recent albums and she still has many people's parents still singing her hits and wanting to go see her shows

So true. I can't believe that anyone would even debate this anymore. It doesn't even matter if you like her or not, she's not going anywhere.

Her last album only sold 1.6 million copies in the US. Sort of different than the 12 Million Like A Virgin sold. Her tour made a lot of money because of the ticket prices, but posted empty seats in a lot of places. Her adoption was absolutely pathetic and the only reason she did it was so she could get a "black" baby to match the color of her black handbag. Is she over with? Lets debate like honest people.

Over? shes 50 years old at this point basically and been in the business for 25, i love how people determine "OVER". Oh she only sold 1.6 million copies in the USA, aww poor thing. First 1.6 sold at her age, with almost NO radio or video support, in a market where everything over 25 years old is OLD,i think 1.6 million is a slap in the face to the bullshit thats out there now. And also her worldwide numbers are staggering, once again lets remember the US music market is crashing, the others arent, as we are clearly seeing now, the USA is already thinking of lowering its gold and platnum certifications by 50%. Im not a huge fan of hers, i have all her stuff, but im not insane about her. But to say that anybody 25 years into their career is OVER is just not a "sane" comment.

"We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F
