Recommedations 4 a new Stevie Vai Fan

Ahh..the power of You Tube(I wish Prince would realize this). I was watching some Stevie Vai clips & I must admit I am really converted now. I watched 'Tender Surrender' & 'For The Love Of God' and I'm still picking my jaw up from the floor. eek That man kicks some major ass. So for any Stevie Vai fans..what albums/songs should I check out from him?

For anybody else who hasn't heard him..please watch this. He's no joke. cool

Passion & Warfare
Flex-Able

He also did some serious shredding on a Hendrix tribute album, "In from the Storm." That's worth hunting down, as well.

And, he was the guest guitarist for one of Whitesnake's latter albums. The title escapes me, at the moment, however.

"Slip of the Tongue".
I also recommend "Eat 'Em and Smile" with David Lee Roth, Vai and Billy Sheehan make a great team.

"Flexible and Flexible Leftovers" are probably my favorite Vai albums. They're quirky and there's one song, "The Boy/Girl Song" that's something you wouldn't expect from him. Real catchy tune.

My fave Vai track, offhand is probably "Jiboom".

Ah, hello, Jesse. wave

Yes, "Eat 'Em & Smile" was my intro to Vai. A video from that disc had him making his guitar talk. I said, "OK, now that dude is on to something..."

Yeah, he's like the perfect blend of guitar chops and showmanship. I love the end of "Yankee Rose", too, when he goes crazy with the geetar.

My favorite Steve Vai album is "Alien Love Secrets". It's got Tender Surrender... Die to Live... Boy from Seattle... Bad Horsie... all amazing...

actually all these songs are on youtube. here's "boy from seattle" (jimi hendrix dedication):

Like all the Alien Love Secrets songs on the DVD... it's not a live performance, but synced... that doesn't diminish Vai's greatness in the least.

my recomendation would be, go see him live, not in a g3 show a full 2 hours of him on his own, then u will most likely stop listening to him biggrin
