The first time I known of Bach, I was in college. I love any type of music except for techno and I can tollerate lil country but Bach is really nice...I love classical!

And of course, Bach's music has things in common with funk - like mad counter-point all over the place - multiple rhythm and melody parts overlaid and doing different things all at the same time.

So, with his Bach-like organ playing, this may make Bernie Worrell the funk reincarnation of JS Bach!

Bach is just brilliant. How about the Ciaconne from Violin Sonatas and Partitas (written about his wife's death).

If you like dark creepy music, have you listened to Prokofiev's Montagues and Capulets, or Brahm's Requiem? You'll never hear these pieces played on an aeroplane. (All the passengers would be so scared they'd adopt the crash position).

I adore him. But then I love the harpsichord, and that instrument always brings Bach to mind for me. I grew up on him (and other classical music) actually and refused to listen to anything but classical music until I was about 11.
