Just what is the latest on Amy Winehouse?

Well, a report claims she has gone into rehab.

Just yesterday, news broke that she'd been rushed to hospital, suffering from "severe exhaustion".

A spokesperson from Island records said: "Amy was discharged from the hospital this afternoon and has been advised to take complete rest.

"Scheduled performances in Norway and Denmark this week have been cancelled."

Now, a report in the Daily Mirror is saying that Amy has allegedly checked into The Priory rehab centre.

Amy with Blake Fielder-CivilWe've tried her reps and management, and they say that other than the statement released yesterday, quoted above, they have no further comment.

The paper claims her father-in-law, Lance, allegedly told how Blake had spoken to him about Amy, saying: "He (Blake) told me he was very worried about her.

"Amy is besotted by Blake. She's much happier when he's there and he wants to help her.

"Blake's a good influence on her," he concluded.

Mr Fielder-Civil did not confirm or comment on the rehab rumours.

i don't see why people take pleasure in amy's wreckiness. it's not like she revels in it like all the media whore starlets. i get the idea that amy winehouse likes singing and recording and maybe even performing live, but she's not dealing well with fame. that's fair, even if she was warned about what she was getting herself into. i hope the hype dies down and she becomes a funky little alterna-diva who can sell out small clubs. whatever her personal life is like, i enjoy her voice. i guess taking the piss out of her a little is fun, but it's just gotten vicious lately.

bit more info....

Says Amy’s father-in-law, “My son Blake, [Winehouse’s husband] He told me he was very worried about her. He admitted they both drank and did drugs but that came as no surprise. It was bought on by all her excesses. Yes, work is one of them, but there’s the drink and drugs too. She’s got to get a grip on herself before it’s too late.”

Winehouse is now recouperating at The Priory rehab in Roehampton, South West London.

Me either, Anx.

Or anyone's 'wreckiness' for that matter....it should be about the music, not about shortcomings or weaknesses.

We have probably all had a friend or two with an addiction problem.....it should be treated with kindness and compassion, not viciousness.

Amy Winehouse Enters Rehab

They tried before and they failed but it seems this time, friends and family of British songstress Amy Winehouse made her go to rehab and they weren’t taking "No, no. no," for an answer.

The "Rehab" singer has reportedly checked into London's Priory rehab center on August 9, reports London's Daily Mirror, with close friends and relatives admitting that her drug and alcohol use has gotten out of control.

Winehouse's father-in-law Lance Fielder tells the paper his son Blake (who wed Winehouse in May) told him he is very concerned about his new bride's lifestyle.

"He told me he was very worried about her," the elder Fielder says. "He admitted they both drank and did drugs but that came as no surprise," adding "It was brought on by all her excesses. Yes work is one of them but there's the drink and drugs too."

The day before she reportedly checked into Priory, her rep released a statement saying the pop star had been hospitalized at London's University College London Hospital for "exhaustion," and had been released the same day, causing her to postpone her concerts in Norway and Denmark. No word on whether or not she will cancel the rest of her European tour. Fielder called those reports a "cover-up."

Winehouse's parents are reportedly with their daughter at Priory.

Seeing some of her photos her at the org recently, no wonder she´s exhausted being that skinny.
"When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."
