Ubelievable album! It's a crime she has to bootleg her OWN album to sell it. Record companies fucking suck!

I know lol I still hate Arista (pretty much L.A. Reid) for what they (he) did to "Soul Parade" and "Kamaal the Abstract" Outkast and Usher were the ONLY artists they had faith in at the time.

Why does it seem like LA Reid is behind MOST of these fuck-ups?

Not to belabor the point, but I dont think that Comm has neccessarily made a comeback. I think he kept plugging away , kept his integrity, and is now reaping his reward.

Common is a pile of wank.

He is full of himself and thinks he is some sort of amazing artist, when in actual fact he is a bucket of shit who is another sell out.

Using Kanye "useless" West for his beats, and then modelling for GAP,

he is another sellout mascarading as a "serious" mature artist.

Bollocks, Fuck him and fuck his music.

If you want real lyrics, go and listen to some PARIS, guerrillafunk.com music.

That is the real hip hop lyricist, soldier who is a true underground artist.
Ironically, PARIS has sold probably more records than Common altogether.

I mean lets be serious.

Who the fuck listens to Common, when you can listen to proper no holds barred music like PARIS ??

if you don't believe me, go listen to his album samples.

He wipes the floor with common or Con Man as we should call him.

Fucking sellout.

Modelling for GAP ? Fuck his sellout ass !

Motherfucker is a sellout!

And don't diss the immortal 2pac. Out of all the shit gangster crap we have, he was the best.
True, he was fucked in the head and made gangsta shit, but he did ALOT of music with lyrics that wipe the floor with common.

Whatever dude? You seem to be the only one here who feels that way.
Are you one of the dudes who still seems to think 2pac is alive? biggrin
Who listens to Common? Apparently all the orgers posting on the topic and the fans who appreciate hip hop as an art form and not as a vehicle to get on other rappers dick(like pac did with the great biggie)because of jealousy. Also common doesn't have to degrade women and act ignorant to make a sale. Hate on the brother com all you want. Common, like heavy d before him, got more street cred than a lot of the so called gangsta rappers by just being themselves instead of promoting themselves as some ignorant bastard.

Limelight? A little. Did not translate to sales. Mainstream? Hell no. Unfortunately, it was his single The Light, that brought him into popularity. Hopefully, it brought new fans for him.

The Light was the first time I heard of him and the first time he was played on top 40

nod That was right after he made the name switch from Common Sense to Common due to (copyright conflicts with a band which shared the same name).

Quick without Googling, name all 7 of Common's albums and who produced them:

Until then, I'll continue to watch as you cosign for shit that you have no REAL knowledge of.

Well, OF COURSE Common has gotten a little full of himself. He's enjoying fame, fortune and exposure. Many of the best MCs of his era have done so. Rakim is hawking top-shelf liquor and videogames. Cube is doing frickin' FAMILY MOVIES. Ice-T is ON LAW & ORDER. Queen Latifah was nominated for an Oscar. Tell me any hip-hop head from 15 years ago would have believed any of that. Money and fame changes things.

Common is one of the greatest MCs of his "generation." I've been down with Com since the "Soul By The Pound" remix. Whatever crossing over he's done, he's still produced some jewels. I mean, "Communism"? "Thelonius"? "Respiration"? "Hungry"? "Heaven Somewhere"? "The Food"? Come on, mayne. Com is nice with his and has been for a long time. Sure he's a cover boy, hawking everything from soda to shoes. But I've never really heard him compromise his music.

Just because Paris, who's been going strong and "Brutal" during that same time, hasn't "crossed over" doesn't mean we should be dogging Com out from making the moves while they're there to be made. 10 years ago, head were saying, "why aren't they giving Com love?" Now "they" are.

Good for the brother. I hope he gets his.
