True to a certain extnet. Jovi have used Child, but he still has written a very small % of their songs with them, some of them released as singles, mostly ballads, which he aslo did for Aerosmith and lots of others, so i really cant fault them for it, because look at all the people that used Dianne Warren to write with, and now Linda perry has become the new "diane Warren" so really they all use songwriters to work with when they need a big single, which is always commissioned by a label. Jovi are from that time period where you had to write the catchy song, cliche as it may be, someone has to do it. But to me having followed them through it all, i respect longevity, not only that Jon is one of the smartest business men ever what he has done with that band worldwide is truly amazing, and also owning it all, once again pure genius in business and he should be respected for that. I mean there are tons of artists from his day, from the Hard Rock days that either are dead or just dead broke because they spent all their money on drugs, Jon has always led that band like a "mafia" almost, NO one on the outside knows are business, i think was Jons quote, and i think that is a reason why they still are here, plus the millions of fans round the world kinda help too.

Is there anyone you don't stick up for? Maya, Cassie, - now, Bon Jovi. No need to rationalize Bon Jovi. They is what they is. And quit trying to rationalize them bringing in Desmond Child - doesn't matter if he didn't help "write" all of their stuff. He still had a negligible effect on them, imho. So does Diane Warren (who totally fucked up Aerosmith) and Linda Perry (Christina Aguilera). So, what if a lot of bands do it? Doesn't make it any less of a detriment to an artist's originality.

You sound more like their publicist than an objective poster - same as you do with other "artists" you defend...

Wow what a broken record some people are, sorry, but i never defended Cassie, find one place where i said she was a good artist or singer? Im also not sticking up for Jovi im just telling it like it is which people sometimes dont like. All im saying is go through their catalog of releases and unreleased tracks which are together are upwards of 1500 songs or so, and Desmond Child was part of about 50 maybe less. Look at their first record and a track "she dont know me" written by Jon, i mean come on, right there you can tell that this guy is just a very simple/rhyme type of guy, very straight forward lyrics, thats what you are gonna get, they did not become that way because of Desmond Child.

As for the artists i defend as you say, i just defend what i have seen or know. If someone comes up to me and says a-Ha is a one-hit wonder, i say "youre fucking stupid, theres a world outside america" just because you dont have a hit here try thinking outside the box for once. As for my post Cassie i think what i clearly pointed out that NO ONE read was that she was just as good/bad as others in her genre like a Rihanna. Thats not sticking up for her, thats comparing Vomit to shit. As for Jovi i really could care less if anyone likes them, doesnt bother me at the end of the day, im just pointing out their facts, just because someone doesnt say THEY SUCK and agree with you doesnt mean they are "their publicist". Have they had shity songs, of course, so has everyone, shit Elton John recorded the worst album in history "leather jackets" in the late 80's and hes a fucking legend. Axl Rose is called a legend and he had one good album, give me a break already with that talk that people spit on a daily basis. People seem to be more impressed with what artists never do than what they actually accomplish.

Also i have had over 5 years of posts on this board so jump off the Cassie, Mya defense bullshit already, you guys are starting to really sound more played out than people that post about Prince's sales.

Hey, if you can't take the criticism, then don't post. Simple as that.

Where is it posted over and over it was ONE post, try reading the other 700 that range from artists like Ryan Adams,Crowded House,Duran, a-Ha, Norah jones, the Jayhawks or that speak about industry shit. If we want to talk about Over and OVer posting lets talk about the 8 million Thicke or Justin timberlake threads or something like that, i mean lets be real already. As far criticism like i said i could care less, u like Jovi, u dont, u like this or that whatever, but what i dont like is when people are ill-informed about artists i know 100% and i know that their comments are based on a couple of singles or something like that. So like i said if someone tells me a-Ha is a one hit wonder or a keyboard band, sorry but im gonna tell them they are stupid, try doing research try listening to something they did besides the one song you know.

Actually, those were some cool pics of her in that last thread. She's really pretty.

I also dig Mya, as far as looks go. She's also a good tapdancer. Don't dig her music as much, though, 'cept for "Falling".

Damn, this org glitch is annoying! Anyway, what I was saying was that "Mya's First Album" (Ironically Self-Titled) was great. "Case of the Ex" was great, too, from what I heard of it. Gorgeous! But for some reason, in this generation, not marketable. There is A "BIG" difference between the year, "1998" and now.

She is which is why i just was putting her up, i mean people post Britneys spears all over place, at least im posting someone that isnt destroying her kids. Cassie's hot, like i said, never raised her up as a good anything, but looking. MYA i really like, but i wasnt into her heavily till album 2 and really heavy on 3, mainly because shes not mainstream, though people think she is, she is so against the tide, which is why she doesnt appeal to the masses. But dancing, to me, she is tops.

Yeah, it's amazing how emotional posting on a thread can get biggrin

I can listen to them strictly for Richie Sambora's guitar playing. In fact, one of favorite guitar solos is the one on "Wanted, Dead or Alive".

Remember when they had a feud with Howard Stern & he called them Bon Phony & then people went to their concerts & screamed Bon Phony at them & got them pissed?
Ahh the 80's.

Furthermore, you can tell that Richie poured his heart and soul into the song considering that he was one of the writers.

The funny thing is that NY daily news Music Critic (worst ever) Jim Farber had "wanted" on the top of a list of songs that needed to never have been recorded. Which goes to show, opinions, really mean nothing. This music critic also gave Prince Chaos and Disorder zero stars and then a few months later gave Emancipation five stars, right there i knew how bad critics were.

I have yet to take seriously any review by Jim Farber. He's like this elitist-type who thinks it's cool to hate anything mainstream.

One thing that pisses me off about Bon Jovi is that people talk about THEM as though they are not a proper band and it's all about Jon. Do people not realise that Bon Jovi is a fucking band!!
