1970s R&B Jam of the Day: Instant Funk "I Got My Mind Made Up (You Can Get It Girl)" One of the greatest one-hit wonders of the 1970s, this long-time session and studio band for Philadelphia International's Bunny Sigler stormed up the charts with this funk/disco jam. The million-selling song parked at No. 1 of the Billboard R&B Singles charts for three weeks, while landing in the top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. THE TRAFFIC JAMMERS, The Org's house band: VAINANDY -- lead singer; NAJEE -- bass; THE AUDIENCE -- guitar; PHUNKDADDY -- rhythm guitar; ALEX de PARIS -- keyboards; Da PRETTYMAN -- keyboards; FUNKENSTEIN -- drums. Instant Funk are a great band. Even though they might only be remembered by the general public for one hit song, they'll always be a hot act in my book.
Instant Funk and Witch Doctor are amazing albums. It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

one of the true funk cuts of all time!! man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81 | |
