A question for GD concerning music

Are there songs that you love more for the music than for the words or for the combination? Right now I'm seriously tripping on how beautifully eerie "Lullaby" by The Cure is, the music. I listen to it over and over, pretty much drowning out the lyrics which is VERY unusual for me since I like to sing and I'm usually centered on the words. Do you have any?

Now excuse me while I go look for an instrumental version.

To me, words enhance the experience. FI; how often people tell me I should love The Rainbow Children cuz the music is so ace. It does not cut it for me cuz the words are so narrowminded and spiteful.

Also, like Lullaby, I could never do without Robert Smith's vocals, as they are part of why I love, love, love that song so much.

I normally agree with you but then every once in a while I'll get an instrumental crush like this. It'll pass and then I'll prolly swoon on Robert's voice instead. biggrin

I like the music to the song "Planet Earth", but songs about saving the planet don't normally appeal to me. I don't care for the lyrics.

i forgot about classical! falloff i mostly listen to cello sonatas, but i do love what i have. it's cliche, i know, but that famous bach prelude is one of the most perfect songs i've ever heard. nod

I think you make your own words in your head nutso mr.green

My classical god is Mozart, always has been - Bach is too heavy for me, not to mention Wagner ill
