Michael Anthony is an integral part of Van Halen - it won't be the same without him

I love VH...with Diamond Dave and with Sammy. Been a fan since 1980. However, I am not excited about this "reunion" at all. I have a feeling its gonna flop.

Michael Anthony will be missed.

I'm afraid so - Eddie's son, Wolfgang, is gonna be taking over the bass-playing duties. Don't know how they're going to "replace" Michael Anthony's vocals - I always thought he was the best singer in the DLR version of the group.

Yeah i was posting this a few months ago when they were first gonna tour, people dont realize how BIG a part of Van Halen Michael is, his input to me, is more important than Dave which is why i think the Dave to Sam transition worked. I felt the same way back in 1991 when i saw Styx and it was almost every original member but Tommy Shaw wasnt there (though he wasnt an original) but years later when i have seen STYX play and Tommy is there and Dennis isnt, you really dont feel the loss like when Tommy wasnt there.

Michael Anthony is a class guy, a nice guy. He did basically did all the background vocals and did allot for the band

Its really since Sammy did do the new tracks on the double best of cd, so one would have thought some of their issues were buried, Sammy didnt have to come back and do those tracks. But from Michaels standpoint, wht was he supposed to do? Sit back and wait a decade for Eddie to get off booze and drugs and just sit around and not play.

Obviously Michael Anthony was Van Halen and there's no way they can ever replace him so they might as well just cancel the damn thing. it's like Queen trying to replace Freddie Mercury, the Doors without Morrison or the Beatles recording with John Lennon dead and gone... opps, wait a minute.... lol

And I don't blame Michael Anthony for wanting to work with Sammy more often. As least Sammy knows how to stay sober. Also, Sammy just want to make some freaking music and not waste his life on petty bitching out of ego (something that Eddie & Dave are too great at).

Michael was given his walking papers before the 2004 tour and wasn't an official member then, only employed as a "hired gun" maybe on Sammy Hagar's behalf. The reason hasn't been given but Eddie played bass on the new songs from best of both worlds compilation said on wikipedia. Yeah Val has been looking great these days JD. I watched the press conference last night and as cool as it might be to see Dave and Eddie back, it's still not the same without Micheal. Dave kept hyping about how great the background vocals are when in all reality it's a "We need Mike" statement.

The other thing that's pretty tasteless is that their new updated photos from the old LP covers have Micheal removed and Wolfie put in. I think that's pretty tasteless.
