It happend again!! I met CASSIE in NYC for the 4th time in 10 months

Its really strange, i mean i use to be tight with Music labels and things like that, so I met tons of artists and other things, but since leaving MUSIC behind last April that is one PERK i miss, the signings, parties, listening advances etc... But recently i have been running into everyone here in NYC, everyone from Marc and JLO, and yesterday running into Cassie for the 4th time. This time at a Cafe in the Village, its just odd sometimes how shit happens.

Ooook. Did she hop on one foot? Did she rub her stomach and pat her head at the same time?

I don't get it confuse If she lives in NYC, I'm sure a lot of people see her there

Yeah but im talking about meeting her at parties. First time i saw her she was coming out of a club i was going into. Second time she was outside of a store near BUTTER as i was coming out of the club. A few months i was having lunch outside near rock plaza and she was sitting at the next table and now yesterday she was at a cafe in the west village, that i was going to meet someone at. As for her hopping on one foot, yeah she did that, then patted her head, whistled her new song and said "are you following me dude?, if we meet again like this Vibe magazine is going to say you got me pregnant or some rumour that they make up"

papi, sometimes it appears as if these posts are p.r.boosters to confirm your place on the scene...relax...you've left that world behind but it's still part of you and your corner of the world where you live...i think you sound like you miss being in the thick of all this more than you're admitting, so that's why you keep shoving your celeb threads down OUR throats, not realizing most people outside of the fashion and music biz (unless its an artist they're really touched by or personally involved with) could care less lol campfire lol

l.d. we could give a hoot about who the hell you see on the streets of new york as many of us live or have been there...but ...we could maybe be really psyched to hear more about YOU and how you're moving on in gotham in such a plastic and cutthroat environment. now THIS is something COOL to hear more about! unless related to a topic already in progress, perhaps its simply better save the shop talk for when you're actually in an environment where it behooves you to network and work your thang queen licking guitar queen

First of all if you think NYC is plastic, then you have never been here, or you just hung out in the clubs. NYC isnt plastic, sorry, NYC is real its the rest of the world thats kind of plastic. As far as my posting 99% of my posts are about different music, what i like, and comments on albums, nothing to do with being a part of INDUSTRY, so the 1% that you are talking about is apparently what you read, so thats on you,not on me.

It amazes how we think we know about people and their careers. The BET performance that everyone knows about, showed more about the industry than her, it showed that labels sign people without knowing what they can do. They sign people from the internet and myspace and American Idol and never know what they can do. TOMMY MOTTOLA the great genius who found Mariah and others, said of cassie when they signed her to Sony/BMG "Cassie is the next queen in RB" now this is a man that is regarded as a genius? And as far as her career being over, well from i have heard her second album is done, completed by that GENIUS Kanye West and she is all over his new cd, plus she signed a 7 figure modeling deal for sean john's new "clothing line" for younger women. So i guess getting seven figures is being over, i wish we all could be that OVER.

Chile, please, like you even have a remote clue where I've been...there would be a reason for that...and that's because I DON'T TELL PEOPLE, lol!

I don't do clubs Papi. It doesn't matter where I'm hanging. These days it takes a REALLY important social or contractual obligation to get me to hang out in a club. Too old, been there, done that, saw enough.

But in any case, be real now, you know how it works from New York to Paris to Berlin. There's always an element of plasticity in the 'Glamour Professions'... and you KNOW this. Yet you're getting all defensive from my comment giggle spank giggle. That's cute. However you can make it up to me by sending me a ticket to your next play... Thats much more interesting to me than whether or not you've seen Cassie this week. Remind me to make you a good strong cocktail when I see you, as you are touchy as HELL (not unlike most New Yawkers I know).

...damn...and to think someone gets upset bcause you're interested more in their own own art and views on art vs. 'guess who I saw today?'... THE IRONY wink

All im saying is read the 99% of the other posts i have which are about artists and there work as opposed to picking the one post about me running into Cassie, like no one on this site talks about their "industry" shit or meetings. As for NYC the only phony thing in it are the people that werent born here, its the people that moved here to become actors or the Long Isanders and their upper class shit that think they are New Yorkers but going to a trendy bar, dont get me started on the southern people moving up to NYC either.

But if you want my views check all my other posts, see my views on Prince and others, see my article on how a-Ha is the most influential band of the last 25 years, if it wasnt for them there would be NO Coldplay,RadioHead or all these other "Greatest bands of all time".

Oh for crying out LOUD! I am so NOT going to read all your other posts lol. But don't take me on seriously, Pumpkin. Just drop it and grab a drink, it's Friday, honey! You need to be over here boozing it up with us across the pond (As it took me to leave the United States for me to adopt the practise that business is a no-no during the month of August). Either grab a cold one, or go up the street to see the CSS show and watch Lovefox roll around on her damned head tease party

It sucked, it was a lame ass live performance on 106th and Park. The reason it got so much play was mainly You Tube, it was all over the place, it sure it was bad, but she had business being up there. This is a girl that was/is a model, not a singer, she went the MYSPACE route and got popular and Diddy and Tommy Mottola signed her, which shows more about them then it does her doesnt it? But i might add as bad as this performance was there are others, how about Rihanna singing mariahs "Hero", rihanna has about as much soul as Kathie Lee Gifford and sings flatter than anyone i have ever heard, but there again, she is a model not a singer, further proof of the industry.

your comparing rihanna as unknown, who was at an high school talent show to Cassie abomination of a performance on 106&Park where even young joc walked off the stage before his rap ended cuz she had no energy, no stage presence, and looked like somebody forced her onstage, she looked like she never performed the song a day in her life, or even taught about any routines while performing

try harder next time, cuz there is a difference from a bad performance and Cassie performance

Ok Rihanna on Carson Daily not keeping up with her backing track (For SOS which is not even her song, and its the most sampled song ever, how can she not keep up) or Lloyd on 106th and park doing the infamous s "sing a line after your lypsync is over". As far as her being forced on-stage well yeah, read the post, look at the main issue, Mottola and Diddy took this kid off a Myspace Page and gave her a fucking deal, are u kidding me? Tommy Mottola at one point signed Hall and Oates and now hes searching Myspace. The point is that both of them are models, neither are singers and neither are trained for the stage, sorry but they are in the same boat, the difference is Jay Z is behind one and Diddy is behind the other and thats what it comes down too. We can all compare shitty performances that people have had, shit Duran Duran on Live Aid 1985 doing View To a Kill was listed the worst LIVE performance of the last 25 years, or countless Prince protegees that he has forced on us that had no business ever being on stage or having a record, the only difference Cassie got herself on YouTube.
