I'm making a long trip over the pacific ocean to California this week and I'm in the mood for plenty of partying!

I'm in SF for Sat/Sun/Mon/Tues

Then renting a car and travelling down the coast to LA (prob stay one night in some lil coastal town).

In LA for Thurs/Fri/Sat (going to rockthebells on Sat I like a bit of hiphop too)

In Vegas Sun/Mon/Tues then back to LA til Sunday via an excursion to the Grand Canyon.

I'm keen to find some live music! A funky lil jazz combo in a small club is my style! Or some soul music in a bar drinkin whiskey! Please help me find some cool spots to hit. Particularly in SF this weekend and LA next week.
I've always loved american music and I would love to get to the heartbeat.

I've been advised to head down to the record stores in Haight St ,SF, when I arrive on Sat and whilst browsing get the flyers for all the gigs that are happening.
I also heard there's a cool blues place in Oakland. But that's about all I know so far.
