Maxxx, I think "Magic" still sounds fresh because the production quality of it was so good.

I used to like Olivia back in the 70s and early 80s, but not enough to want to own her music.

I remember seeing "Physical" played as one of the earliest videos on MTV.

There is ONE song I keep playing over and over again.
I even bought Olivia's Greatest Hits Part Two for it.
It's called...

A Little More Love

Hey,I love Olivia smile

I like many of her songs, but these are my two favorites...

***"Hopelessly Devoted To You"(1978)---The scene in 'Grease' where she sings this song is one of the highlights of that film.Never get enough of this song!!

***"Make A Move On Me"(1981)---By 1981,Olivia changed her image a little bit, with the 'Physical' album. This song is sexy and seductive.I still have memories of her singing it on "Solid Gold" wink

I was more in love with her than her music, but I did own Grease & Xanadu albums. She was so hot back then! I remember seeing Xanadu on TV when I was about 11 years old with her on rollerskates. I have no idea what the hell the movie was about, but I DO remember, uh, "discovering" myself after seeing her in that movie. lol

She was teasingly hot.
My fav is "Honestly love you"
Magic & Mello are too.
We all want a big hit again because
we want to relive the Hysteria & Pandemonium we experienced
when Purple Rain was Hot. Actually, he doesn't care if it happens again or not.

I just bought her greatest hits compilation with 4 "new" tracks...however, it's 10 years old! It's still great though.

The 1st 4 r the new tracks:

1. Deeper Than A River
2. Not Gonna Be The One
3. I Want To Be Wanted
4. I Need Love
5. Twist Of Fate (from the movie with John Travolta)
6. Physical (sexy song, sexy video)
7. Magic (from the Xanadu soundtrack)
8. Deeper Than The Night (from the Olivia album)
9. A Little More Love (from the Olivia album)
10. You're The One That I Want (Grease soundtrack)
11. Summer Nights (Grease soundtrack)
12. Hopelessly Devoted To You (Grease soundtrack)
13. Please Mr. Please (Have You Never Been Mellow album)
14. Sam (Don't Stop Believing album)
15. Have You Never Been Mellow (album of same name)
16. If You Love Me (Let Me Know) (album of same name)
17. I Honestly Love You (If You Love Me (Let Me Know))

I've always thought she was a sexy lady with a sexy voice (girl-next-door kinda sexy). My wife (in all honesty) looks like a Latina version of her, same eyes, mouth etc... only darker.

Olivia went thru a lot in the 80's, a nasty divorce, breast cancer, bankruptcy of her Koala Blue clothing stores... but she survived it all.

She still looks great and sounds fantastic... much love Olivia...

Thanks mistermaxxx 4 another stellar thread!

As I am only familiar with her well known "radio hits" I'd have to say "Hopelessly Devoted"..

it's a beautiful, romantic, yet painful song, & Olivia just knocks it out.

I've always thought that she has a good voice, she's proven to be very good at doing pop songs.

I don't really like any of her music, except for two songs. And those two songs are great-

Magic and

Suddenly (duet with Cliff Richard, or whoever that guy's name was)

I've always loved Suddenly, a favorite from my childhood.

I just discovered the song "Magic" from a roadtrip I took late last year and fell in love with it.

XANADU soundtrack...

Magic...
Whenever your away from me (with Gene Kelly)
Dancin (with the Tubes)

I got this record because I'm a big ELO fan...but I found myself playing the ONJ side a lot...

Although I hated the movie, as I hate most musicals, the ownership of this soundtrack was the first hint of my possible homo gene (or so my gay friends tell me)...

Plus did anyone catch her in the movie "Sordid Lives" she played a country singing lesbian...she ROCKED!

That's the same compilation that I have! It's cool, but it doesn't contain my favorite song by her,"Make A Move On Me"smile

There was a more recent compilation (mid-90s?) in which Babyface produced an updated version of "I Honestly Love You" and sang background vocals,I believe.
